Just as the title says: make it possible to widen teleporters as much as you'd like so that you can connect more wires. Change them to start as 2 tiles wide. To expand it, place another teleporter next to it, but so that there is one cell overlapping. Keep doing this up to as wide as you want it, as much as you can afford (as expanding by one tile costs a whole teleporter) or as much as the game processor can handle.
The trade off, besides coins, is the probability you're going to teleport an unintended NPC or enemy when you use wider and wider teleport pads.
Alternatively, add 5 tile wide teleporters to the Steampunker, as this is probably the second most common size people would want to use.
