This suggestion is a small one, more tailored to those of us who are inclined towards having an Elven look ingame. There's a pair of items that already let you pull this off...
The Elf Hat And the Huntress's Wig
These are neat, but they aren't compatible with the flowing hair you can get from the Stylist or other hats because they are functionally wigs.
So my suggestion is simple: Add a vanity item in the game somewhere that, when equipped, gives the player Elven ears without an attached hat there to soil other possible vanity options like hair, or a different type of vanity hat.
