Well i have an i7 3770 + gt 610 + 16Gb Ram and i think this setup is more than terraria needs, and i keep having lag when the background is turned on, so there is something that i can do to solve this lag problem? please help me guys!
I wouldn't be surprised if this was a limitation of the GT 610, but I lack the data and resources to confirm this myself. Your GPU is significantly low powered.
However, you may find some extra frames by running fewer things in the background and disabling the game from running on your first two cores. To do this perform the following:
Right click it and select "Go to Details"
Right click Terraria.exe again and set priority to High.
Right click Terraria.exe one more time and click "Set Affinity"
Deselect CPU 0 and 1.
If you still get frame drops after that it's safe to re-select core 0 and 1 as well.
Most likely you'll need to end up getting a more powerful GPU to run at full settings with no lag. However, something else we can try is doing a clean reinstall of your graphics drivers. To do this I'll need to know what Operating System you are using.
