Hello everyone
-Sorry I have sprites but have no idea on how to insert them;(
-And it's actually the prison of the lunar leader

Backstory:

I was thinking about Cthulu/Moon lord and where he would've came from. I mean if he wanted your character dead would he not just do so? Now this is what is on my mind: The lunar leader unleashed unspeakable horror on the world, and till he was banished by ancient worriors to this place called "The Void". The cultist at the Dungeon Have made it their life duty to free him once again, and then you interrupted the ritual ,but you were too late, And in the end he escaped from "The Void".

What if you could go to the Void and Check it out? And maybe pick up some usefull items on the way?

standing on the block.

defence will normalize and start over.
-Reaches +100 defence in 20seconds (+5 defence every second)
-Making contact with an enemy, will rapidly deal damage.

NOTES:
-To craft all Viodite gear (Weapons, Armor, Tools)=
395 bars or 3 950 ore, I mean it is OP!

-They are VERY common and spawn in bunches of 5-15
-They are white giant bats with one big purple eye

-As big as mother slime and can jump very high
-They appear as big dark purple slimes

-Large worms that act like crawltipedes’

1. Overpowered stuff, and nothing to use it for (continue working on those mobs and bosses)

...unoriginal, really. This is one of the many times where I've seen something related to Cthulhu. And while I find it to be quite interesting...

3. ...isn't it much too soon for Cthulhu to show up? I mean, in 1.3, the Moon Lord, Cthulhu's brother, showed up.

Now, in 1.4 (or something close), you already want the big bad wolf himself to show up? We've been waiting for Cthulhu to make an appearance, but if he already shows up, then wouldn't it be sort of anti climatic?

A battle with Cthulhu should be the end of Terraria, not just the mid point of it's updates.

I mean, we have a lot of potential here. We have all sorts of things we could shove into future updates...

So why end a journey short?

Your idea is probably one of the better Cthulhu ideas I've seen (aside from that one idea where Cthulhu is a jellyfish), but try and save the final boss for the finale, and not the ride there.

Let's be real here. They basically are. The only reason Moon Lord isn't Cthulhu is because they said no Cthulhu and they don't want to look like liars. But the Moon Lord is everything Cthulhu would have been had he been in the game.
 
Doesn't Cthulhu live in the ocean? That aside, it's an interesting idea, but moon lord is already supposed to be the end of the game. What are we gonna do with all this stuff? There's no point to adding this, maybe it would be a cool mod I guess?
 
I don't think Cthulhu exists inside reality. It's just that the doorway he would enter our reality from is at the bottom of the ocean(basically like Pacific Rim), so when he comes to consume the world, he comes from the ocean.
I suppose that makes sense. All I know about Cthulhu is that should he ever awaken he'll destroy the world, right? Seems to be associated with the deep ocean a lot, so it just makes sense to me that he would live there.

As on the wikipedia page (May not be true) he is a water elemental/being.
 
Its alright, I like the idea behind it a lot, however...

-It should be on the same tier as the Lunar gear. Everything needs to be nerfed, in its current state its way too overpowered
-I think it should stay as the prison of Cthulhu. Makes more sense that the Moon Lord was imprisoned on the moon, you know?
-Cthulhu is spelled Cthulhu, not Cthulu :p
-I think that the Portal Key should drop from a new enemy that rarely spawns (more commonly near the dungeon or in space) after you beat the Moon Lord, called the Maelstrom. Would be a sort of miniboss, and once you get the key it stops spawning.

IN the original story that created cthulu, he was a being of water.
Actually, Cthulhu comes from space, he was just imprisoned in the ocean.
