as someone who plays higher difficulties this is a mechanic just designed to waste your time and has always rubbed me the wrong way. this would prob save alot of time on expert playthroughs and even master ones.
 
Kinda Neutral on this, to be honest. On one hand, yes, it takes forever sometimes. On the other hand, it can also give you time to catch your breath and strategize if you die in the middle of an invasion.
