NPCs & Enemies NPCs acting in self defense, Guards

"i love nights like tonight, there are never a shortage of things to kill"
then kill the damn slime instead of running away from it...

I agree with the top section, NPCs should be able to defend themselves. Especially the Arms Dealer and Demolitionist. But I feel guards are too complicated/unnecessary. I wouldn't use them, for sure. I like my lava pits and dart traps. :) But if guards were implemented, I would like to keep their housing the same as the other NPCs.
 
i support that,but instead of normal npc you can replace with AI:allies., AI:sentry or AI:parader.

allies:support player but also attack player if player kill their allies first(replace with AI:fighter)
sentry:stand still/can't move but get more defense
parader:walk follow the front one.if leader on the front dead,then every AI will become allies that wander around.
