Xbox One Shots fired?

I have been playing split screen single player and it's horrible, if one of you is in a chest it makes it so the other can't do anything with their inventory, also incredibly annoying and even playing solo my diamond staff attacks vanish from sight near and in the dungeon, as well as the dark casters attacks making it extremely difficult to play. It proceeds from the dungeon all the way to the edge of the map, I cannot see my attack anywhere in those areas,

Also would love a way to resize the game window, I can't get my screen to match up, very hard to see my hot bar and health
