an alternate floating island
Introduction
"Jewels of ancient times hover above the clouds, married to the sky. Long ago, civilization once embraced these cloud born lands. Today these massive gems and ancient ruins harbor both treasure... and danger."
Welcome to another Floating Island Alternate I've made! It is heavily influenced by old school Final Fantasy and D&D. I definitely wanted to do more things with crystals and such, and while remaking the Fallen Isles alternate, I paralleled development on Sky Crystals. Hopefully it earns a cozy place in your heart. Of course there are some more storied things to the alternate, and it even has a few easter eggs for any of my avid alternate followers out there.
Please enjoy!

This is a suggestion. And as such does not assume anything definitively. This means...
Balance is a non-issue; the numbers are provided to elicit an idea of what values an object could have. If the not-set-in-stone-imaginary numbers upset you, you're welcome to suggest other numbers, but they have no bearing on the suggestion changed or not.
Sprites are a non-issue; sprites have been provided, like balance, to help imagine the suggestion as a concept. In no way are any of the sprites final. Just like the numbers, they too are not-set-in-stone-imaginary things. This means that recolored, spliced, and unique sprites have no ultimate bearing on the suggestion. If any particular sprite upsets you, you are welcome to provide one of your own to remedy the not-actually-an-issue so that I may reject it.
This is an alternate. This means that Sky Crystals can spawn in a world instead of Floating Islands. It does not replace Floating Islands. As an alternate, Sky Crystals additionally does not mirror the values or gameplay of Floating Islands in a 1:1 ratio. It is it's own biome, not a recolor or reskin. Sky Crystals is also NOT an expansion. There is no additional content. Content included in Sky Crystals is a counterpart or replacement of existing content given to Floating Islands.
Lastly; as an alternate (and not an expansion or replacement), Sky Crystals does not assume to redefine class balance. I'm sorry if your favorite class isn't represented well in the suggestion. If Floating Islands represented all classes equally, so too would Sky Crystals.

Drakes are a scourge upon the sky. They are so dangerous and so plentiful, that it is not uncommon for adventurers to be paid for slaying them. They roost within the Sky Crystals and feed from Sky Lakes, attacking anything that gets in their way.
Drakes behave similar to Harpies. They will fly around the player while spitting fireballs. They have a 50% chance to inflict the player with On Fire!

Dragons and Drakes were once a part of normal life to denizens of the Sky Crystals. It was because of the appearance of Crystal Dragons that no one lives above the clouds any longer. They use the crystals that grow from their backs to channel the very essence of storms to fire deadly bolts of lightning.
Crystal Dragons fly slowly to approach the player. When they do attack, the Crystal Dragon must first charge. The bolt fired will target the player's position at the time of firing (hold still at your own peril). Their attacks inflict Electrified.

Dragon Slayer is a spear that carries the player in the direction that it is used (like a dash) and pierces all enemies in the path. The Dragon Slayer will carry the player far enough (when used directly upward) that the landing will cause fall damage. The weapon is strong, but unfortunately also slow.
