PS4 Spiky ball trap

In 1.2 I had spiky ball directly above a block,they would bounce above a lot and all the traps would function. But in 1.3 not all traps work and even if they shoot spiky balls they still don't bounce much. Is it a bug or is it like this now?

I’m not sure @bogon1. If you could provide screenshots or video of what’s happening that may help.
