In the Steam version of the game, I am getting a repeating error of one of the game files being unverified. While this doesn't prevent me from booting up the game, I am experiencing issues where the keyboard controls are completely broken save for a select few I managed to get working. Those keys are: SPACE(Doesn't do anything on it's own, but is required to be held for the following keys to do anything), A(left), D(Right), S(Down), and ESC(What should be inventory is now the jump key). I was able to open the inventory through the use of storage items and check the control settings, but nothing was changed there either. After multiple reinstalls and verifications, this issue continued to pop up and make the game near unplayable.

This is a known bug, for now the workaround seems to be to uninstall Terraria, turn your PC off and on again, then reinstall Terraria.
Your saves will not be effected by this.

In regard to the verifying game cache, it's intended that one file will not be present.

Try changing the download region on steam.
