Greetings Terrarians - and future inhabitants of Otherworld!

As you have likely seen by now, Re-Logic is partnering with our friends at Pipeworks Studios on a Terraria spinoff - Terraria: Otherworld. In case you missed that announcement - or our subsequent GDC Blog and latest trailer - we have provided those links at the bottom of this post.

That said, we have recently begun to share further details and spoilers about the game on social media - and we wanted to have a "one stop shop" for all of our fans to be able to see these as they are released. This thread is that place! We will add a new post every time a fresh spoiler is released.

We will leave the speculation and commentary to other threads, in order to keep this one clean and focused on the spoilers themselves. On with the show!!!

April 24, 2015: Building Materials​

We’ve been hard at work fleshing out the Building aspects of the game – and we wanted to show off some of what is possible with the materials we have added so far. Just in time for the weekend, we are pulling you back into the future of Terraria: Otherworld by introducing you to only one of the handful of “Legacy” weapons you can find in the game - the Minishark! For fun, we have included the Minishark from Terraria, Otherworld, and Jim’s awesome concept art from the Steam trading cards.

May 22, 2015: First NPC Revealed!​

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

One way to spend the long weekend – at least in the US – might be to sit down with a good book. Though, as our friend here – one of the new friendly NPCs from Terraria: Otherworld – shows, if you want to know everything there is to know, you sometimes need to read at a snail’s pace.

So, who is this slimy individual? What’s his story? What other characters might be out there for you to find in Otherworld?

May 29, 2015: Otherworld Gets Crafty!​

Feeling crafty today? Well, our trusty Terraria: Otherworld adventurer certainly is! Take a peek at the revamped Crafting Interface that will be at your disposal.

Featuring time-saving enhancements like crafting tabs and the ability to mark some creations as “favorites” – so that you have fast/easy access for your most needed crafts – the new system builds upon the solid existing Terraria crafting foundation.

Good afternoon Terrarians!

We took a couple of weeks away from Terraria: Otherworld to let that "other Terraria game" have the spotlight all to itself during the 1.3 launch - and then take a bit of time to celebrate ourselves. We are back this week on the Otherworld spoiler train with a pretty substantial change...

Introducing our completely rebuilt main character models! With these new models in place - and more customization options - you can get yourself "into the game" like never before. So, what do you think? What will your Terraria: Otherworld character look like? Let us know!​

September 18, 2015: On a Quest for Otherworldy News!​

It has been a while since we checked in on what's happening in Otherworld. Well, some old friends with fresh faces have stopped by to share the new Terraria: Otherworld quest system and another bit of news - Terraria: Otherworld will officially be coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One! We will have more to share on timing and whatnot on the PC and Console launches in the weeks ahead - so stay tuned!​

December 26, 2015: Terraria: Otherworld - an Update​

As you likely have figured out, Terraria: Otherworld did not make its planned 2015 launch. Simply put, the game is not ready yet - as we laid out in the beginning, we will only launch a game when we feel it meets our standards as a finished product. Terraria: Otherworld hasn't reached that point yet, though very strong progress has been made. The team continues and will continue to work hard in the months ahead to get T: OW to a place where we will be proud to release it to you and it will be worthy of your support and expectations. All we will say at this point is that our goal is to get this done and in your hands during 2016, but we will provide further information and spoilers as we move forward.

Along those lines, we would like to share one of the latest additions to T:OW - swing grappling!​

July 28, 2016: Terraria: Otherworld - Bringing You Up to Speed​

We are reworking a number of elements to bring more "Terraria-ness" to Otherworld as well as to really make the things that make the game different stand out in fun and engaging ways.

Want an example? Well, we felt the dynamics of the purity vs corruption did not feel "big" or "dangerous" enough....so that has been aesthetically redone (as just one small piece of that revamp)! We have also been focusing on revamping other biomes - to make them feel more diverse and deep - as well as putting a lot of work into the Weapon Leveling system.​

September 2, 2016: You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat!

Enjoy a quick dive into the Ocean Biome in Otherworld! Deadly sharks and more await you as you try to hold your breath long enough to explore the murky depths for loot and adventure. There is a lot to see in this quick snapshot, so we will leave you to your usual dissection and speculation. Oh yeah.....Multiplayer is working, as you can see. Just sayin'.​
