Aberration is a large content mod that adds various new features, items, NPCs, and more.
“In 1982, a so-called virus was discovered, titled, Aberration. It spread across the world of Terraria and, unfortunately, infected the whole world. People weren’t able to survive this, especially because of the difficulty skyrocketing.”

Over 70 items, a new world evil titled Abyss, a new biome, XL world size option, enhanced vanilla biomes, adds removed vanilla items, class description to items, Masquerade Event, weapon upgrades, a blacksmith, etc.

This mod currently lacks enemies, accessories, and armor sets.
I need a musician, 2 more spriters, and at least 2 programmers.
I created Aberration out of boredom. This mod was originally going to be a test for my coding skills, but then I wanted to make it an actual content mod. Sorry for the lack of gameplay in this thread, I haven’t gotten to coding yet and I’m still looking for programmers. I’m also mostly on my iPad, and rarely on my laptop. Meaning, I can’t get to coding just yet. That’s why I’m looking for programmers.


I am currently focusing on the sprites and features. Coding and development will start once I have programmers for Aberration, 2 more spriters, and a musician.

Away from the important stuff, thanks for being apart of this mod if you wanted to partake in this project. I’m not saying you can’t anymore, you still can help, all I’m saying is thank you.


Where is the mod available?
As for now, the mod isn’t downloadable. It is still under heavy development and will take time before it’s even tested. Once it is released, it will be on tModLoader.

Tier I = Phoehmite
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Phoehmite Shards.

Phoehmite is a sacred mineral found in the depths of the Hollow. Legend says, Phoehmite used to be strong enough to take down the gods, but then the Corruption and Crimson came to be, both infecting the mineral, thus weakening its power. The ore itself was Hollow’s life source, and would cure anyone and anything. It was, until its use became something different. Phoehmite became a major part in war, making it the most useful close-combat gear in the world of Terraria, so far.
Tier II = Tarzite
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Tarzite Bars.

Tarzite is an ancient mineral found in the deep underground of the terrifying jungle. Legend says, Tarzite can break through... almost everything. It’s durability makes it useful for tools and weapons. Although, wearing Tarzite... will burn your skin, in a way.
Tier III = Trevisite
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Trevisite Essence.

Trevisite is a mineral found in the depths of the blue ocean. 5 years ago, during the Duke Fishron discovery, a new ore was discovered as well. People used it as a way to make gear, since it produces water breathing. Trevisite hardens and becomes stronger underwater.
Tier IIII = Moltite
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Moltite Bars.

Moltite is a hellishly humid mineral found in the depths of Hell. Legend says the material was found by the god of war himself, Ares. He forged his first sword out of this ancient and sacred ore. Although he lost it, dropped it into a pool of hot lava in Hell. Yes, Moltite cannot burn in lava, but the sword sunk deep. It still has not been found.
Tier V = Dune
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Dune Bars.

Dune is a sharp and sturdy mineral found in desert temples. It was first discovered by Egyptians back in 1952, and is currently used as protection and fighting. Dune has a real strong force that can send enemies backwards.
Tier VI = Mechanicite
Pre-hardmode gear crafted using Mechanical Bars.

Ah, Mechanicite… the one mineral that was always found near a lab underground. The three mechanical maniacs were created using this solid mineral. The creations were supposed to be allies, until the scientist realized that the mineral made things evil. Blood thirsty creatures.
Tier VII = Coagulation
Hardmode gear crafted using Death Souls.

Coagulation is a scorching hot bloody mineral found in the deep caverns of the Crimson. Not that many people have studied this mineral, since it is one of the rarest resources in history.

Y’know what I’m adding into Aberration? Tempature!​
In order to navigate certain biomes, you will need specific armor because of the tempature.
EXAMPLE: Wandering around in the snow biome will require some sort of gear that covers the whole body. Frostbite armor will not help in this case. Same with wandering around in Hell, wearing Molten, Solar, or any gear that covers the whole body will make you more hotter.

What would a warrior wear to fight WoF then?

Yeah, I'll also suggest that the crimson blade's glowing part be recolored to look imbued in ichor(provided it's a hardmode weapon) be it either dripping yellow energy or burning with yellow sparks. I'll try making my own version of the sprite.
 
I notice there's no in-game screenshots or programmers on your dev team. How do you plan to continue with this mod, I wonder?
 
I’m learning how to code still, and I’m looking for programmers.
Does the game use json? If so I can help, but I honestly just want to do spritework as the programmer art is ok for the purpose for testing, but not exceptional to make a polished product, that and I want an excuse to take a spriting course.
