If that was the case, why isn't pokemon ultra sun and ultra moon something like dlc. it still have pretty much the same story as the previous game, the only difference if that it just gets added post main story content and that's it.

Like seriously, if it was like dlc, then I'd probably be fine with it, but they make you basically repurchase the entire game plus the new content, which is stupid.

I never cared for Pokémon games after gen 3. I don't really like how nice the rivals were past gen 2. Gen 2 is my favorite because it actually felt like it continued the story of R/B/Y/G. With gens 3+ the different games felt disconnected from each other.
