I think it would be quite fun and helpful if torches were converted to their biome specific variants just like walls and blocks are, either when corruption, crimson and hallow spread naturally or when using biome-spreading tools like the Clentaminator/Terraformer.
It would not only look better, but also give the player easier access to better luck in those biomes, especially right after hardmode begins and the V of corruption/crimson and hallow appears in many areas that the player likely already explored and placed tons of standard torches in.
It would also make it much easier to change biomes with the Clentaminator/Terraformer without having to replace all the torches.
Of course it should only affect biome-specific torches and standard torches, not things like colored torches.
Would be even better if the functionality can be toggled on and off along with the Torch God's Favor, particularly for manual biome spreading.
