Once you are far enough from the boss, the "tongue" debuff won't affect you, even if you are behind the wall of flesh. You can see this if you go back to continue fighting it after dieing. The only real problem with the wall of flesh is it only de-spawns when it reaches the end of the world. Also, this might lead to a bit of confusion when using the compass. But still, how would the tongue work, you can pass the wall!
The Wall is special, as success is dependant on skill, not on if you make silly mistakes
Having it go on like this means it is easy to cheat. Dart Traps fire across the world! It would make bosses easier by just "hold D to win" with Asphalt.
Where would goblins spawn from? The 'outer two thirds of the map' idea would be completely broken.
More than that, how do you express a map of a round world? Would the map wrap and move according to your position? This would be very hard to code in all the changes required and would cause far more nuisances than it could prevent, and from Starbound I find that a wrapping round map makes the world seem puny and repetitive. I am unsure about this idea.
nope all projectiles have a times, when it runs out the projectile despawns. althrough on most projectiles the timer is so long it's unnoticeableOh crap. You forgot about projectiles. Quite a few go forever.
There is a reason why I Dont like Rectangular Shaped Worlds
Square The Shape of Evil!!!!!
I don't like this idea. It doesn't make sense to me. Also I am wondering how far boulders would go, if you had a large flat part of land you could get them running a ridiculous distance and have a very cheap boss fight.
It makes sense if you imagine the world as a planet that you can circumnavigate, but that's the part of this idea that I dislike since it would mean the world of Terraria is just a small world instead of a small island on a huge planet.I don't like this idea. It doesn't make sense to me.
Exactly, I like the idea of it being a large world that you can explore. Granted it's one island at a time but still. It makes sense if you imagine the world as a planet that you can circumnavigate, but that's the part of this idea that I dislike since it would mean the world of Terraria is just a small world instead of a small island on a huge planet.
He means that you could just flatten the world in some areas, get some boulders, roll em, and they would loop endlessly, dealing damage the whole way. What the heck are you talking about? The world isn't actually round with a center of gravity. It just loops when you reach the edge of the world.

Or you create an arena where nothing lives for more than 5 seconds, or you figure out where the bosses will be and have hundreds of damage done constantly without effort.Okay thats kind of ridiculous and I doubt that would ever be a problem. Worst case scenery, you deal a couple hundred damage to a boss. So what?

Rocks are much cheaper and bypass armor.2 Words. Lihzard Traps.
Rocks are much cheaper and bypass armor.
I never said anything about that either. Don't put words in my mouth.Really... That's fine and dandy that you don't like this idea... but tell me, where have I ever said anything about doing down makes you come out of the top... *facepalm* I can't even
