Grand Paladin Tyrux
Empress of Light
What are your Terraria Headcanons? They can be anything, the creation of the world, how the corruption was created, who the Lihzahrd are, or even a tiny detail like x NPC's relation to y NPC. Have fun!
Here's my headcanon. Have fun reading it all.
Here's my headcanon. Have fun reading it all.
-Gaea is born, creates Terraria, creates two sons, Ra (the sun god) and Cthulhu (the moon god)
-Humans, Lihzahrd, Dryads, Goblins, Merfolk and Truffles are created by Gaea, Cthulhu creates Demons, Ra creates Angels (inhabitants of the sky islands)
-Four other worlds are a part of this solar system, each imbued with a celestial element, Solar, Vortex, Nebula and Stardust. Four humans are drawn to these sources of power, and merge with them, each traveling to space and guarding over the eldritch pillars that lurk on the worlds, to stop them from being unleashed. There is also a fifth, red, world, where an advanced alien society resides.
-Little does anyone know, Cthulhu creates a race in his image to populate the Moon, and the greatest of them is ascended to godhood, and becomes Cthulhu's own brother, lord of the Moon, guardian over it when Cthulhu dwells on Terraria.
-Celestial Guardians group together, travel to the moon, defeat the Moon Lord and seal him away within the Moon. Cthulhu learns of this, but bides his time.
-Things are peaceful, humans have a big civilization in the forests, as well as two other human groups in the snow and desert, goblins live on another continent, dryads live peacefully in the forest, merfolk live in the seas, lihzahrd build temples dedicated to the sun god deep within the jungle, angels keep to the skies while the demons hide in the underworld, truffles stay in their mushroom biomes and do their own thing. Gaea goes into a deep sleep, she just created a planet and millions of life forms after all
-Humans and Goblins go to war, humans win and force any remaining goblins back to their homeland.
-Corruption and Hallow are known as the domains of the gods, occasionally adventurers travel to both, Hallow is friendly but the Corruption is a place of darkness, however both stay put.
-The two gods grow restless, and begin to spread their biomes, wanting more power
-A Martian UFO crash lands in the forests, allowing the humans to reverse engineer the technology and create the first guns and advances like the internet and cell phones.
-Cthulhu corrupts a band of humans, who become obsessed with him, and construct a great monument to his power, the Dungeon. Their leader, a true Lunatic, curses an elderly clothier to guard over it. Three warring bands of humans are lured to the dungeon in hopes of power, all are slain and resurrected as a skeletal army, including a few unfortunate Paladins who served the human king and were pursuing the warriors.
-The Lihzahrd construct a great idol to their god's strength, to gain favor. In turn, the Sun God assures them that the jungle will be left untouched by the Hallow
-Gaea regains some of her strength, while she was sleeping both of her sons slowly sapped energy from her. She gathers several children from various races and trains them as Paladins of each biome. Paladins of Purity, Snow, Desert, Ocean and Sky serve the Purity, Paladin of Mushroom keeps to himself to guard his own biome, Paladin of Space (a martian), Paladin of Hell and Paladin of Corruption serve Cthulhu, while the Paladins of Hallow and Jungle serve Ra.
-Biomes spread much further, other races get involved, many humans are corrupted with power and join the armies of light and dark, it explodes into a full blown war.
-Humans, dryads, merfolk and angels band together and serve Gaea, goddess of The Purity. Most monsters, as well as corrupted humans and even a few Martians, the mysterious advanced alien race, serve Cthulhu, god of Darkness. Finally, many humans who fell to the lies of the Hallow, as well as many light and 'good' monsters, serve Ra, god of Light. The war goes on for several years, angels are driven to extinction, demons plot their own takeover.
-In a climatic battle, the gods themselves kill each other, and unleash themselves in their purest forms as spirits of Light and Dark, however a human historian with the assistance of Gaea travels to the underworld and sacrifices his own soul to the demon king in order to lock the spirits away. Most races are almost extinct if not fully extinct, and the Lihzahrd were sunk deep into the jungle and imprisoned in their own temple by Cthulhu during the battle. Several of the survivors and warriors are granted immortality by Gaea. Cthulhu's body, upon destruction, exploded violently, creating The Crimson. The Hallow was completely destroyed, however because of the survival of his Eye, and the existence of the Eater of Worlds, the Corruption served, albeit much weaker.
-You are the Paladin of Purity. The Guide saved your life, and now, after several years of being kept safe by the efforts of Gaea and the Guide, you are unleashed upon the world to defeat Cthulhu and end his evil once and for all, bringing peace to Terraria.
As for the bosses...
Eye of Cthulhu: Cthulhu's eye, it his possessed by a fragment of his spirit that survived being trapped in the Underworld, and carries out his bidding on the surface world.
Eater of Worlds: A beast created by Cthulhu, this monster dwells within the Corruption and feeds of the souls of the dead.
Brain of Cthulhu: Cthulhu's brain, driven insane by the Crimson, is a chaotic creature and dwells within the caverns of the Crimson.
Skeletron: An old man cursed to become a vicious monster, Skeletron is the general of Cthulhu's undead army, and carries out his bidding on the surface world while his brother is trapped within the Moon.
Queen Bee: The queen of her hive, queen bees are INCREDIBLY protective of their young. You broke a larvae, you screwed up, the queen isn't a minion of the gods, just a mother. You monster.
Wall of Flesh: A horrific creature, the keeper of the Underworld was created by the Demon King, and is infused with the soul of the Guide. It keeps the spirits of Light and Dark at bay, but its only a temporary seal...
The Twins, The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime: These three mechanical shells were designed by a steampunker during the Shadow War to defeat their living counterparts, however were never activated and sat abandoned deep underground, until the spirits of the Eye of Cthulhu, Eater of Worlds and Skeletron possessed them, using the mechanical bodies to wreak chaos upon the world.
The Flying Dutchman: The mighty ship of a savage pirate crew, it is enchanted with ancient magic discovered by them in a long abandoned Merfolk temple, allowing it to fly.
Plantera: Guardian of the Jungle, this beast was created by Gaea but corrupted by Ra. It holds the key to the Lihzahrd Temple
Golem: Avatar of the Sun God, this Golem was possessed by the Sun God to protect the Lihzahrd tribe in your climatic battle. However, it fell, giving the Lunar Cult an opportunity...
Duke Fishron: A servant of Cthulhu, this beast fought against Neptune, ruler of the Merfolk, for 7 days and 7 nights before it was defeated and imprisoned in an ancient temple. However, its predatory instincts could not be contained, and the Spirit of Dark broke it free of its ancient prison. It is said that it enjoys the taste of mushrooms...
Mourning Wood and Pumpking: Servants of Cthulhu, they were born from the pure fear of young Terrarians surrounding the night of Halloween. Pumpking commands the forces of Halloween in service of their master. However, they only have the strength to rise when the moon is their ally...
Everscream, Santa-NK1 and Ice Queen: These creatures also serve Cthulhu, however they have other goals. The armies of frost, lead by the Ice Queen, claimed the northern pole of Terraria from an old sorcerer and toymaker known as Santa Claus. Using the magical energy from his workshop, they wreaked havoc upon the rise of the Frost Moon until they were defeated. However, shall the Frost Moon rise again, they will certainly return...
Lunatic Cultist: Leader of the Lunar Cult, dedicated to Cthulhu, his brother the Moon Lord, and the master of the Celestial Elements, Phantasm. Some say he's insane, others say he's possessed by an ancient spirit, but regardless, the leader of the cultists is a force to be reckoned with, especially if he absorbs the energy of the Moon itself...
Celestial Towers: The four towers of the Celestials can be compared to the Four Horsemen, they are the bringers of a lunar apocalypse. Each one was imprisoned on their home planet by a Celestial Guardian alongside their minions, but the Lunatic Cultist could be able to absorb enough energy to summon them forth, they would be able to unleash the Moon Lord.
Moon Lord: Brother of Cthulhu, Lord of the Moon, the Moon Lord is one of the most deadly beings in the Universe. The most powerful of the Cthulhi, besides Cthulhu himself, he is one with the celestial element of Phantasm. If he were to be unleashed from his prison by the Lunar Cult, Terraria may not survive.
