If I had nickel every time a catchy song about a character named Steve got stuck in my head this month I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
At the front of Disney’s California Adventure you can find Oswald’s Gas Station. The shop is named after Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a cartoon character Walt Disney created before Mickey Mouse. He was a relatively popular character, but Disney lost the rights to Oswald after he and his team of animators stopped working for Universal Pictures. Mickey Mouse was created shortly after as a replacement and quickly eclipsed Oswald in popularity. The Walt Disney Company later got the rights for Oswald back in 2006 in a deal where they traded real life sportscaster Al Michael for the Lucky Rabbit.
The Refreshment corner at Disneyland is a great spot to grab a cold fizzy drink. The outside of the building is lit up with alternating red and white lightbulbs. One set of these lights goes underneath the building’s entrance in a loop and has an odd number of lightbulbs. Instead of having two lightbulbs of the same color next to each other Walt Disney had a special lightbulb made that is half red and half white to complete the pattern.
I just won a game of Ticket to Ride with a final score of exactly 200 points. It was Ticket Ride Asia which is played in teams and has lots of extra mission tickets, but still, mad skills.
