I don't think so, don't really want to test that either He should not spawn if you do. So, if your goal is to dodge him feel free to try it and reply back. If not, you might be out of luck if you did that.

I did happen to do that, and woah I am happy because I was not ready for the pillars when I beat the lunatic! It was after midnight and I was getting really tired.
