Alerts suddenly take much, much longer to load?

This just started a few days ago... whenever I mouse over Alerts, the first time I visit TCF, it takes several seconds to load and it never did that before.

Did you guys change something at your end? I didn't change anything on my end, same net speed and everything.
 
Is it from the home page? I've noticed it takes a long time to fully load the home page now, and alerts don't pop up until it's done loading everything there. I switched my default bookmark to "Forums" instead of "Home" and haven't had any issues since.

Not that I'm aware of, no.

There are layers of connectivity between you and the forum server, there could be temporary slowdown in there at any given time of the day, for a number of reasons. Most of the time, it's a temporary issue.

@Agastya makes a good point - the front page is often image-intensive, and the forum list page usually loads faster.
