So, in my experience, I've liked to make my chest rooms in my playthroughs underground or in an attic.
I'll almost always change the walls to make fun patterns, but what bugs me is I have to break the wall(s) surrounding the wall(s) I want to get rid of.
Same goes for the walls surrounding those ones till I find one with an opening.
Why is this? I don't see this necessary and I feel it would make underground or underhill building MUCH easier.
You can do this with normal walls. Why not natural dirt walls or grass walls?
For those not knowing what I am talking about.... here is an explanation
It is Something I would REALLY like to see changed.
I don't know if there is a way to avoid this though. If there is, please tell me.

You always get natural walls that you never placed on you're own when starting a world.
These walls cannot be broken, nor replaced if there is another natural wall on each side of that one wall.
