tModLoader Buffed damage over time debuffs

CrimsHallowHero

Buffed damage over time debuffs mod
v0.3.0.2

Mod increases damage of damaging debuffs, according to max health of the target. These debuffs are usually quite weak and useless, especially in expert mode, where mobs possess huge amount of HP.

Buffed debuffs:
On Fire
Frostburn
Cursed Inferno
Poisoned
Venom
Shadow Flame
Life Drain

Mod also supports most of the damage inflicting debuffs from these mods:
  • Calamity
  • Spirit
  • Tremor

New formula:

(max_life / 70) ^ (0.4 + 0.3 * 1000 / (max_life + 1000)) * 10 * (0.1 * base_damage) ^ 0.05 * log₁₂(base_damage + 1)

Code:
→ BASIC DPS → 1 2 4 6 8 15 20 25 40 50 100 200 400 800

pleas buff the damage to the player to
I think damage to player is reasonable as for now. Increased duration of debuffs inflicted by enemies and absence of regeneration should be taken into account too. Otherwise being under effect of these debuffs would mean slow and often inescapable death.
Thorium's Terrarium weapon series is going to be so much more powerful now.
Nevertheless, this should be acceptable in that stage of the game.

Can u add debuffs from other mods?
I have never tried.

The current formula might not be suitable for some modded debuffs, because they are already powerful enough. You may have noticed that the mod doesn't influence some vanilla debuffs, such as Daybroken, Celled and Life Drain.

However, I will probably add support for debuffs from the most widespread mods.

Any chances this mod will see an update and show up in the browser?
I'm currently working on adding compatibility with Thorium and Calamity as well as new formula for damage coefficient to keep things balanced, more or less.
As for tmodbrowser. Well, I didn't managed to add the mod into it because the browser was giving me the same error several times, and the advice attached to error message didn't help.

You forgot the Daybroken debuff. It's only inflicted by two end-game items, but I figured it's worth mentioning if you were looking to buff all DoT debuffs.

Good luck with compatibility and the browser and thanks. I'll keep watching this thread.

Mod updated to version 0.2.

Changes:
- new formula
- support for Calamity, Spirit and Tremor

Unfortunately, Thorium DoT debuffs overrides any other changes in NPC regeneration (both positive and negative), so it is currently not supported. Though shouldn't conflict. Some of Spirit's debuffs have the same problem. If I investigate how to bypass issue, I will fix it.
As for now, stackable vanilla effects (Celled, Daybroken and Penetrated) still remain untouched. Counting their effective level appeared to be a non-trivial task.

Any chance this mod will be updated for the newest Tmodloader? Seems great
It seems to work well with current version of tModLoader. Except red annoying label shown in the mod manager, I don't see any reason to update it. Say if I'm not right or there are any bugs related to this mod I could have missed.

Just started playing with it and it's amazing, fixed many problems I had with the base game. But I do feel like it maybe should be updated just for the sake of it? It's not on the mod browser and that annoying red text will be a huge off put to many people.

For some reason, it always appears in the mods that yet have to be updated
Like, if I update it and reload the Browser, it shows that I can update it again
Idk that's pretty odd
