  • Thread Alerts: This section customizes what activities that take place within public threads will trigger an alert. By default, everything on this page is checked (alert for everything). You may uncheck any boxes for which you do not prefer to receive alerts. The options are:

  • Article Alerts: Articles are not used at this moment in time.

Linking your Account to Steam – The Terraria Community allows its members to voluntarily connect their account here to their Steam account. This connection can be used to help members connect with each other and may be utilized to otherwise connect gaming activity to our community – for example, there are trophies available for members that own ReLogic games on Steam!

  • Step One: Select the “External Accounts” item from the Member pulldown menu (click your member name in the upper toolbar).
  • Step Two: Click “Associate Steam Account”.
  • Step Three: You will be taken to a secure page on the Steam Community where you will need to confirm via Steam Account ID (NOT Current Name) and Password in order to complete the linkage.
That’s it! Now you can login to the Terraria Community using Steam. To do so, simply click the green login with Steam box when logging in (instead of using the Terraria Community login).

You will again be sent to the Steam login page where you will need to enter your STEAM credentials (not your Terraria Community login credentials).

Avatars & Signatures – As with most communities, the Terraria Community allows members to customize their appearance through the use of an Avatar image and a Text/Image signature appended to posts made by the member. Setting up each of these is pretty straight-forward.
  • Avatar Set-Up: You may assign an avatar to your account by clicking the “Avatar” option in the Member pulldown menu (accessed by clicking your member name in the upper toolbar) or you may alternatively do so via the “Personal Details” option.
M5BNLfC.png

  • Once in the Avatar Screen (shown above), click the “Upload New Custom Avatar” button.
  • This will create a popup window where you can browse your PC or Mobile Device for the image you would like to utilize as your Avatar.
  • It is recommended that your avatar image be at least 200x200 pixels
  • IMPORTANT: Please review the Community Rules around acceptable images – including those used for Avatars/Signatures – before making your selection. The use of inappropriate images will result in their removal as well as possible actions against your account.
  • Signature Set-Up: You may assign a Signature to your account by selecting the “Signature” option in the Member pulldown menu (accessed by clicking your member name in the upper toolbar).
    K0WTaXn.png

  • Once in the Signature Screen (shown above), you may begin to create your signature using images, text, or both.
  • This works exactly like any other post on our Community in regards to formatting, BBCode, and processes for embedding images. See the Public Threads section if you need any assistance with how this works. The exception is that there is no option to upload a file to use in a signature; instead you must upload images/GiFs/etc. to another location on the Internet (e.g., imgur) and insert them as URLs.
  • You may click “Preview” to check your work, and then “Save Changes” when you feel your signature meets your desires.
  • Signatures are limited in height to 150px by the system. Any content beyond 150px will be cropped.
  • IMPORTANT: Please review the Community Rules around acceptable images – including those used for Avatars/Signatures – before making your selection. The use of inappropriate images will result in their removal as well as possible actions against your account.

Trophies, Titles, and Medals/Badges – The Terraria Community offers members a number of ways to distinguish themselves through activity & contributions – and to earn various goodies for their account in the process. The Title and Trophy system follows an MMO-style model versus a points-based progression and is built around Terraria mobs and NPCs. While initially quite basic, the TCF Staff are very much interested in feedback on how to evolve this system to best meet the needs of the Community.
  • Trophies are awarded for various community activities, such as linking your Steam and forum accounts, owning ReLogic games, holding or winning contests, and reaching certain post/like thresholds.

  • Awarded Trophies unlock associated Titles, giving members more options to choose from when setting their active title. See the Personal Details section for more information on choosing an active title.

  • The list of all available trophies is available on the Trophies help page.

  • Awarded trophies may be found by going to a member's profile page and clicking on the Trophy Points value in the left information panel under the avatar image.
Those transferring from Terraria Online to Terraria Community Forums should be aware of the following:
  • Trophies, Trophy Points, Posts/Likes, and Titles will *NOT* be transferred between forums.

  • Custom Title holders from Terraria Online may contact Loki to request a one-time custom title.

Miscellaneous Account Questions

  • Are multiple/alternate accounts allowed under any circumstances?
    • Each user is entitled to one (1) account only. Unauthorized alternate accounts may be terminated by staff without notice upon discovery.
    • The only exception to this is the appeal of a ban or to resolve a security issue – in order to contact staff when the primary account cannot be accessed.

  • How do I change my username/birthday?
    • You may request a change of username with the Name Change Request option found in the Settings options on the left side of your Personal Details page.
    • You may make up to 2 approved name changes every 30 days; the proposed new names are reviewed by the Staff and may be rejected with a reason given.
    • If you feel you must have a name change before 30 days are up, please contact a Staff Member by PM.
    • You must contact a Staff Member to change your birth date. Though only Administrators can actually enact the change, any Staff Member can ensure that your request is sent to the proper people.

  • Resolving Account Security Concerns
    • If you have reason to believe that your account has been compromised, please let a Staff Member know IMMEDIATELY via private message
    • If you are unable to access your account, you are allowed to create a second account for the purposes of informing staff and communicating through the process of fixing the issue.
    • Note that you will be required and expected to provide substantial evidence of ownership of the compromised primary account. No exceptions.
    • Upon resolution, the second account will be terminated.
