Items Desert Key Mold

CrimsonKeeper

Terrarian
Most biomes have a key mold. The Jungle, Hollow, Corruption/Crimson, and even the Snow!

Considering underground deserts exist. I think the desert deserves a key mold!

The item in the chest would maybe be....

SandStorm Blaster

Basicly it would be a magic wepon. It would shoot small sand storms that slow enemy's.
Maybe 45 attack damage.
Medium knockback.
Maybe it could cost 20 mana? Sorry im not sure what to put here...

Cool idea!

I'd probably have the reward be similar to the frozen key reward (staff of the frost hydra). Perhaps a desert-themed summoning creature instead of a sentry?

Awesome. I bet if the devs read this they are going to wonder why the heck this wasnt added. And as for whats in the chest how about a thorn/cactus gun that causes the bleeding effect.

I think whatever the item in the desert chest may be, it must do throwing damage. This is because each biome chest benefits each class.

Corruption/Crimson = Melee damage
Jungle = Ranged damage
Hallow = Magic damage
Ice = Summon damage

My suggestion is that the chest would contain an item called "Endless Sand Bag" . Dealing 30 damage a piece, this weapon would throw powdered sand That gives the "suffocation" debuff for 10 seconds. The projectile would act like purification powder, vile powder, etc. However, It being a throwing weapon, any hardmode armor has no effect on it's Damage output, leaving you no choice but to use accessories.

Here's some stats:

l6ZYdUm.png

Endless Sand Bag
30 Throwing Damage
2% Critical strike chance
Very Fast Speed (Use time = 15)
No Knockback
Throws Sand to Suffocate your Enemies
'Pocket Sand!'

I put a lot of work into this idea, so if it doesn't get added, I will make a mod for it.

Wow never relized each chest supported a class!

Wow never relized each chest supported a class!

Yeah, I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it's pretty crazy!

And, when you think about it, Throwing Damage was Ranged Damage and Summon Damage was Magic Damage back when the post-plantera chests where added, so I guess they thought it would be unbalanced to have no Summoner class. But Throwing classes have Absolutely no way of surviving in hardmode. There are a whopping 3 throwing weapons in hardmode, Holy Water, Unholy Water, and Blood Water. Nobody uses them because they Spread the Hallow, Corruption, and Crimson respectively.

Also, key molds have been removed from the pc version. This is because of the very tedious process of obtaining the keys. After grinding enemies for 4 hours or more, You finally get lucky enough to get a key mold, which already has a 0.04% droprate. Then, you have to beat plantera to get a temple key, and then beat all 3 mechanical bosses for their souls. After all that, you can FINALLY craft yourself a key with the mold, the temple key, and 5 souls from each mechanical boss. That process times 4 takes about 100 hours of your life that you will never get back.

You still have to do this on the console, mobile, and 3DS versions.

With all due respect; kindly grow up. This is a blatantly disrespectful and immature reaction. You are not the first person to suggest a Desert Biome Chest.

This suggestion, like many before it, only suggests a biome chest and key -- it otherwise has no relation to your suggestion whatsoever. It did not copy your suggestion any more than your suggestion copied all those that came before it. It is no more and no less "stupid" than your suggestion.

EDIT: Pretty sure you owe @CrimsonKeeper an apology.

What a polite and mature response! You, sir/ma'am, have earned my respect.

Technically, the devs intended the throwing to be a subclass, that's why it has no endgame armors. But that doesn't mean it can't be a throwing weapon!

Also (last time I checked, so I might be incorrect), not all world's generate with deserts, so there would be no way to obtain the key/key mold.

What version of the game do you play? I think nowadays ALL worlds contain at least 1 desert biome...

Sorry if I came off as rude, I don't mean for it to be.

Mobile version, and no offense taken

Hm... I don't know what to tell you. There isn't anything on the wiki talking about how there sometimes won't be a desert, and as far as I know, all of the worlds I've created have had deserts in them--but then again, I play a more updated version of the game.

I play mobile but I've never seen a world without a desert

Maybe your just unlucky? I got a world with lizahrd bricks blocking the temple door.

I understand that, but you don't have to worry, if the developers add it they will balance it out, all you have to do is describe it.

shoot, you just made a thread about this.

umm.

crap, I just made one today.
