IC Downpour

Ossea

"Mhms." With the feedback from Akkith, Ossea keeps going downstairs, making sure to light the way forwards with a flashlight.
Akkith follows behind.
As they go on, footsteps echoing a bit, they seem to trip some motion sort of motion sensor somewhere, as thin lights in the walls flicker on weakly, some obviously damaged. However, it only provides some slight illumination to the downwards tunnel.

Soon enough, the stairs end. Seems it’s a hallway of steel going forward.

Pax, seeing as he's probably done irreparable processor damage by talking too much, slowly gets to his feet, going to open the other drawer on the other side of the scale as to inspect it, his mind racing.

"An old tool of measurement, the scale is used to compare quantities of different items by the same weight.."

"Perhaps..."

He looks back towards the side filled with the odd liquid to see if anything's changed with it.
Well, the left drawer is filled now. Seems it stopped filling up by itself.

The right drawer could probably be opened in a similar manner. Or maybe…?

Pax goes to open the drawer using his organic hand with a simple tug on the illustration of the bowl, dipping his pronged claws in the liquid in the other, scooping out little more than a few drops.

As expected, pulling out the right drawer is simple enough by grasping the knob sticking out from the wall.

The right bowl begins filling up with the strange liquid in much the same way as the left bowl.

Weirdly enough, there are additional..bowl silhouettes drawn around the scale…one on the right below the actual right bowl drawer, and one on the left above the actual left bowl drawer.

Assuming he had needed to add the liquid himself, Pax stands still for a second, then flicking the liquid from his mechanical claws as he wipes them on his worn pants.

He squats down to get a closer look, trying to pull out the left bowl marking first.

Ossea

The avali appears to not mind tripping one. "If door was closed for long time, if lights are in such bad shape... nothing to worry, h-heh..." And soon, she goes through the steel hallway.

The silhouettes don’t have the same knobs as the drawers, unfortunately. Seems they weren’t meant to be pulled out..?

Maybe something should be done with the drawers, currently still out. Both are filled with liquid now…

Akkith continues to follow.
Both would find a whole lot of nothing for a bit. At least this hallway shouldn’t be too long.

Then Akkith would trip over something. Maybe just stumble, maybe outright fall. Ossea, meanwhile, would notice a security turret, twin barrels aiming down from the ceiling at the floor.

Pax then gets to his feet, gingerly pushing both drawers in and stepping back, waiting patiently.

And after he does so, the markings on the main …change.

The bowls depicted on their fronts shift in appearance so that they appear full, reflecting how the bowls were filled up just now. The left bowl seems more fully filled than the right.

And then the scales…move, skewed more towards the left bowl, now tilted downwards.

The left bowl is farther from the left bowl silhouette now, as is the right bowl with its own silhouette.

"... I take it this is probably about the absolute maximum of what you can process.. but I am simply asking you to print a manual. It will aid in your safety and return to "Greengate".. that much I can promise.. Is that okay, my small mechanical friend?"
"This... doesn't make sense. I am-AM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE.... what happened...?"

Ossea

Quick, do I shoot the turret, or do I find a cover.
Ossea decides to first find an adequate cover from turret fire, then shoot the turret should it react to movement, for example, some scrap being thrown away from her hidey place or Akkith. Of course, she's not shooting yet.
Cover it is.

Cover it is.

The turret isn’t moving.

Seems like it doesn’t have power. Though the hall doesn’t exactly provide much room for cover anyway…it’s pretty small.

Ossea

She sighs with relief and fear. "U-um... no covers here, we should move together fast. Just in case." She picks Akkith up, and once she picks her up runs through the hall anyway just in case the turret triggers anyway.

Akkith would try to bite her arm, not hard enough to injure but hard enough to hurt (5).

Ossea

(Nat 1) That... in the most unfortunate case, causes her arm to bleed anyway. "O-OWCH! ALRIGHT ALRIGHT..." She's crying a bit from pain.

Sorry, I appreciate the help but that was reckless.

She'd try stomping on it and then look down.
With a loud crunch, Akkith would crush...a metal arm.

Looking down, what tried to grab her would appear to be something... humanoid in shape. Looks like some kind of large, grey metal exosuit with a black helmet...with the other arm and most of the legs blasted into dust. There's also some scorch marks in the wall and floor where the exosuit's legs and arm were presumably blasted off, before whoever was inside was finished off with a stab through the heart.

Something black seems to be writhing, just a little bit, from inside the stab wound in the chest..
...
But then it stops moving.

Ossea

She seems to be pulling off... the supplies. No bandages though. "Uh... I forgot to bring in bandages. Just... great... ow..." She'd try to ignore the bleed and pain for now, instead focusing on what is Akkith looking at.
