Engineering Boots would be an accessory sold by the mechanic. They would allow you to walk on minecart tracks as if they were platforms and step over pressure plates without triggering them. If the player presses or holds the down key, they would activate pressure plates as normal.

This would be a pretty useful item, it'll make traps much less of a pain to deal with and I could see this being very useful in some contraptions.

They would cost 10 gold and could be combined with a Mining Helmet and Toolbelt for “Engineering Gear” or something.

I actually love the idea of accessories in this style! I would definitely use this in places like the Lihzarhd Temple.

Oh hey, a boots idea that is not a rehash of the old combine lava waders and frostspark boots idea. Neat. I really like this, it'd probably become my goto for temple exploring and for mining through the cave systems.
