Other Literature Even Darker-er: The Re-Darkening: Zero

Mmm, you could give him a new name if you want, otherwise I already have something planned for why he has the name that goes back to his Lawman days more than it does his current life.
Oh what I meant was that I was wondering what explanation you'd come up with. You know like the whole 84 thing you did earlier.

Sorry for the double post but I think I forgot to specify the color of the one I wanted. I'd prefer the one that is shown second on the wiki.

If it's too late for that it doesn't worry me too much.

Not too late at all! I'll probably be "recording" the next episode Sunday, so anything said here might not make it in to the next episode. Will probably be another 3-4 dungeons, and hopefully we'll see some more interesting things develop.

You could sign up for another character, probably. I'm sure when people start dying left and right, we may run out of heroes as it is, plus the endgame will require 16 damn-near maxed-out people, and I doubt we'll avoid more deaths till that point.

In that case, I'll sign up as another Man-at-Arms, going by the name of von Hohenheim.
Hopefully I'll have better luck this time. :)

Will do! I partially blame myself for your death, since it was the first time I played Man-at-Arms...and didn't expect him to literally die by using a "Take damage instead of an ally" skill. Also, the lack of healers -really- cemented the deal. Doesn't help with Haru being a raging alcoholic and skipping weeks because she has drunken shenanigans.

Should I sign up with another character? Or should wait until my current one dies?

Hmhm...You can probably wait until your current one dies. Having a decent amount of uh..."Non-essential" party members might be good for the story. Non-essential as in not named after anyone important, red-shirts, etc.

I'll make another one as backup. Any classes that you are missing, especially the "female" ones?

No, I haven't forgotten about this. Been struggling with a pretty serious depression recently, mood's nothing but periods of bad, with intermittent bursts of hyperactivity. But I'm currently in the latter stage, so here's this post!

I'm in the process of doing the next episode, but rather than give a screenshot or two, I have better ideas for a spoiler. A couple of sidestories / subplots for the near-but-not-necessarily-immediate future. So without further ado, here's a list of several issues I'll be touching base on: (Does not mean it will be relevant for this next episode.)

  • Haru has a drinking problem; she's always drinking, losing trinkets, spending gold in a drunk bender by buying rounds for the entire bar. We'll talk about how she copes / overcomes this addiction, and discuss some shenanigans that happen when she's drunk under the table. (Subplot ends when her "Tippler" quirk gets removed.)
  • Sera is our resident ruins specialist. She's trying to find out how the ruins seem to be shifting themselves (randomly generating), and trying to uncover the secret / driving forces behind it. (Subplot is progressed / regressed as she gets positive or negative ruins-related quirks, respectively. Boss will be fought when she makes a breakthrough)
  • Matsu and Torteval have reaffirmed their friendship, and although Matsu is over his paranoia, he will not undertake any mission without Torteval, as someone he can wholly trust. However, Matsu remains entirely skeptical of Linkboy84, and for the foreseeable future, will refuse to take any mission with him.
  • The mystery of the Collector will be discovered and explored. I don't know if I did something specific to trigger him, or if he's entirely based on RNG (no spoilers on how to summon / spawn / fight him please), but it remains a lingering issue for the team.
  • Linkboy84 struggles to cope with his "nature" and remains very hesitant about transforming. This will be touched upon at some point or the other.
  • Dr. C might be the first (and not the last, most likely) casualty, but his story does not end there. How I continue to utilize him as a plot device, I'll leave up to your imagination. It would be way too big of a spoiler to discuss this in any further depth, but it's not the last we'll be hearing of him. Probably the last we'll be seeing of him though. (That's a hint.)
  • We need more healers. This will be sort of discussed, though not sure how it'll play into the story other than "sending" someone to hopefully rally some healy-types.

That's all I'm willing to share at the moment, but I'll be finishing the next episode hopefully by this time next week. I'm still going to be updating the hub before the next episode gets posted, but that's a bit low on the priority list at the moment, but I do intend to get around to it.

EDIT: One last thing I forgot to mention, the way I'm gonna be doing Torch / Light level from now on is as follows:

For every person that has a "Negative" trait associated with high light level, or a "Positive" trait associated with low light level, I will be taking 25 off the limit of how high the torch goes.

For example, if Haru has a trait that gives her +2 speed when the light level is below 75, I will not let the torch go above 75. If both her and Sera have this trait, light level will not go above 50. This should help keep things fairly interesting and fresh, in terms of difficulty.

Will Dr. C be pulling a Starscream?
And Matsu is afraid of Linkboy84? Good. Very Good!
All the better to kill him!

So, coincidentally, the game had a large update today. Among the most important changes, are an entirely new class: The Antiquarian. This class is predominantly going to be someone that helps us get richer in dungeons. But in order to access this new content, I'm having to opt into a "Beta" on steam, to give early feedback of new content before it hits live, so I've done that.

There may be nonsense that happens that could potentially wipe our progress, but I sincerely doubt anything of significant importance will happen on that front.

So, right now I'm recording the next episode ON this new beta branch, and will be experiencing some of the new content. Some of the new stuff includes:

The new class: The Antiquarian.
Arbalests and Highwaymen have received significant buffs.
The stagecoach can be upgraded to have a chance of giving higher level characters.
Basically, a lot of the late game grind has been diminished.
Roster base size / upgrade size increased: We can now hold more heroes at once.
Heirlooms: (Stuff to upgrade our town) Is not limited to certain regions: Meaning you'll randomly get heirlooms based on mission, instead of having to exclusively visit certain areas for certain heirlooms. Long story short, this should help us upgrade stuff more easily, even if we stick to ruins and weald right now.
Heirloom exchange: We can exchange certain heirlooms for other heirlooms, resulting in a net loss, but allowing us to fast-track ourselves to a specific heirloom for a specific upgrade.

So, as of this moment, I'm recording the next episode. There'll be a lot of interesting changes to cope with, but let me know (fairly quickly) if anyone wants to sign up to be an Antiquarian.
