Mobile Friend can't join online mobile multiplayer

I followed the guide on how to host on my PC using: "Terraria Mobile Server". I was able to join my world without a hitch. I gave my friend the IP and port but they are unable to join my world. It is stuck on the "connecting IP : port". They are unable to join my world. Any advice on this please?

I feel like we're so close.. yet it's not happening

This sounds like the sort of issue you would get if you had not portforwarded, but it seems you've done that if you followed the guide.
It could be worth checking a few things, for example whether you pressed 'save' on your router config, or maybe trying to portforward again.
If that doesn't help I may be able to help you through the proccess.
