Humans grow like vegetables. When they turn 18, they are ripe. They are able to produce offspring (The equivelance of harvesting seeds to plant them for new vegetables, which is close enough to having children)

Anyone else find it this way?
 
Umm... OK?
Fruit produces seeds. Vegetables are the seed. So humans are more like fruit. If we were like vegetables, we'd grow into new humans. Although humans can become vegetables with sufficient brain damage, though this is not something most humans aspire to.

Humans produce eggs... not seeds. Sperm would be comparable to pollens.
And sexual reproduction is possible much earlier, i think at around 11-13 or so? Basically once girls start getting their periods. And even a 18 year old person is not "ripe" in that sense, since they're far from being done develoving and start "decaying". Puberty ends after around 22 or so. I think.

tl;dr: Your analogy is not only weird af but also false.
