If you haven't been following the non-PC update news, let me summarize it for you now.
ReLogic itself does not handle non-PC updates; its not our area, the coders on our team are PC specialists. They don't have any experience with Console or Mobile coding. So while we code everything for PC, other companies with the skills and assets to handle Console or Mobile porting handle the process and transitioning our game to those platforms.
Unfortunately, after years of Console and Mobile updates which, in our opinion, did not meet our standards and had left a pretty significant number of players unhappy, we decided to take a new route. We brought on a new external team, Pipeworks, to completely overhaul the Console engine, to create a version of the game which is closer to PC and will lend itself towards easier updating and better performance (though this only applies to new gen Consoles). This task is very nearly completed, although it has taken quite a while.
After Console is finished, this adapted codebase will be adapted to function on Mobile as well. From that point forward, Pipeworks will be handling updates for Console and Mobile, with close oversight from us at ReLogic.
The unfortunate downside of this process is that the process of remaking the game from scratch is . . . well, it takes time. And so the period between updates has been longer than usual, but the goal here is a much more solid game on every platform, and ideally more rapid updates moving forward.
I hope that answers your question.
