Weapons & Equip New Early game launcher type weapon: The Acorn Cannon!

MoultonLava

Torch God
Recently I have been doing OP endgame weapons, so now I will do an early game weapon.
Meet the Acorn Cannon!
Damage: 28
Use time: 43 (slow)
Velocity: 11
fires a spread of acorns
crafting: 100 wood, 25 acorn, 5 of any gem sapphire and above.
This is an early game option to help you tackle the early game struggles. With its easy recipe and high damage, it will help you out for a while.
It acts like a very, very slow shotgun that uses acorns.
But, it has a trick up it's sleeve: gemcorns.
Depending on which gemcorn you use, a useful affect will happen.
Amethyst: creates a small purple explosion that lingers for a bit.
Topaz: creates a very small electric field that inflicts Electrified for a short duration.
Sapphire: creates a small frost blast that inflicts Frostburn
Emerald: Inflicts Midas on the target, and has 1 pierce.
Ruby: explodes into a small area that inflicts both On Fire and Hellfire, although Hellfire will last much shorter than On Fire.
Amber: Splits into small shards that deal 50% damage.
Diamond: Doubles velocity and gives minor homing abilities.

I think that the higher tier gems power is balanced already by their rarity, and if you have a farm set up you can use this till Skeletron and maybe beyond.

I’m not sure using Gemcorns should do much more than a damage boost, but other than that I support.

I like the idea of the acorn shooter, but I don't really know about the gem modifier thing. Perhaps it could just be crafted and then crafted into an upgraded version of it?

Add different effects according to the Gemcorn seems too "Complex", maybe is better if shoots any Gemcorn each 5th shot and only deals more damage
