Two weeks ago, I read about the cloud option and thought "neat, now I can play the same char/world on my laptop and my desktop!"
Like a good person, I saved off a copy of My Games/Terraria on both machines. That's backups 1 and 2.
Then I moved both the player and the world to the cloud. After some fiddling (open the game on the laptop and the desktop alternating) eventually they are showing up both places. Great!
Today, I open the game and all of my inventory is gone. (No I'm not on mediumcore. Yes I'm sure I didn't just put them somewhere. The 10 action bar items were still there, but the other 40 inventory items were empty) So, after making a copy of the contents of My Games/Terraria, call that backup 3, I move my player off the cloud and try copying in backup 1 and 2.
Result: My player is gone. I've tried dropping in all three backups. He never shows up in player select. The worlds are fine (but I think the world is on the cloud, and the same one loads no matter which backup files I copy in to the Terraria dir).
What am I doing wrong here? I see people talk about backing up their local files, surely there's some way of getting this player back with all the copies I have? Anything I should try, other than uninstalling?
