Console Power Gauntlet (Sprites please)

A new item, that bears a stupid resemblance to the Nintendo Power Glove.
Power Gauntlet:
Tooltip: "You look like a idiot wearing that"
Fires a beam with 200 melee (yes) damage, and uses no ammo/mana. When held it will be shown as a silver glove on your hand, giving off a certain light with a green/yellow/red bulb on it as well.
In exchange, it has a overheat system. It shines green when its ok to fire, yellow when you have 1/2 overheat, and red when it can't be fired. (You can, but it will deal an explosion instead, harming everyone in the radius for 300 damage INCLUDING YOU.)
Every time you fire it, the overheat changes color, raising the danger of an explosion. Waiting for 10 seconds will lower the color to green. If you fire with the red light on and survive, it will not work for 50 seconds with a black appearance and giving you the "OWWWW." debuff for 2 minutes, which will set you "On Fire!" for 20 seconds if you try firing it, and halves your defense. After the "OWWWW." wears off, the power glove can be fired again.
Knockback: Sends the enemy offscreen immediately (minus bosses, who hold their ground)
Note: Yes, the damage is OP, which is why i added the overheat system to make it EXTREMELY dangerous to rely on it.

It will also have a 1 second delay in between shots.

It's an interesting concept... but it's basically a powerful weapon with two shots and I'm guessing will only be used to deal an opening blow to bosses, because it's far too inconvenient to use in normal combat and few enemies require 200 damage to kill and even when they do it's never an issue that it's not delivered in a single shot- far more convenient to just use a gun.

The value of a weapon in Terraria is based on it's DPS: That's why things like the Megashark and Chain gun are widely used and the sniper rifle is left to rot. Two 200 damage shots with a ten second delay is a 40 second DPS- which is beaten by a gold broadsword (or, if you insist that it's range gives it additional utility- tied with the flintlock pistol and beaten by shurikens.)

Though theoretically, if we could switch over to different weapons during the recharge period, it would basically be an additional 40 DPS tacked onto whatever the weapon's base DPS is. Which, of course, just makes it ridiculously overpowered, as it's essentially a straight- damage upgrade on some weapons that are powerful enough as it is.

Also, this has all been with the assumption that this is around mech tier, as you gave no recipe or other acquisition method. However, both points listed have been theoretical so the actual tiering shouldn't matter much.

Edit: There, its now dropped with the ALREADY CONFIRMED AND ADDED ON PURPOSE Zapinator, and has a 1 second delay in-between shots.
 
Way too powerfull. And what happens when 1.3 and meowmere comes on 3ds? This would have higher dmg than endgame weapons.

This does 200.
Meowmere does somewhere in the 300s.
And star wraths comets do twice the damage btw.
Also, both of those are autoswing and dont try to kill you.
