Hello everyone, I have an art thread now! I'm StarsAndStuff, I do all kinds of art, but mostly crochet and digital. I've been playing Terraria and making art for a long time now, but making Terraria fanart is fairly recent. I hope you enjoy it! :guidegrin:

6/17/24 -
Crocheted the enchanted sword banner! Added a few pixels to the sides, since I'm not limited by having to keep it 8 pixels wide. But other than that, its the same!

Already have plans to make at least a couple more banners (the new bird banner, maybe the new sky island one too) but def lmk if there are any other cool banners that I could make :0

Ever since I first saw the spoiler for 1.4.5 banner/trophy resprites, I haven't been able to stop thinking about the bird banner. It is getting  such a glowup lol. Anyway I think it would practically be a crime if I didn't make it, so here it is! The bird squad, in all of their glory!

Like with the enchanted sword banner, some small changes were made so that it would translate better to crochet (and also the image I was working off of was Super blurry lol) but mostly, it's the same!

Been wanting to crochet these guys for ages and finally did it :guidesmile: so here's the Slime Squad!

Fun fact, the Queen Slimes wings are removable :guidesmile:

Finally getting around to posting this art of the town slimes I made ages ago! Every one of these has some sort of reference as to how you acquire the slime :guidesmile:

Anyway I Love the town slimes, theyre adorable. One of the best additions to the game, I get them all every playthrough. I think there should be more just so that I can get them too lol

Im also finally printing them so I can have stickers to cover everything i own!! So excited for that :guidegrin:

Drew the heart lantern and star in a bottle! Went way off from the actual sprites, especially for the star. But i did enjoy making them!

Pretty simple drawing, but the Pumpking! His arms were a nightmare lol. I do enjoy drawing swoopy capes/cloaks tho

Party girl!! Ive been on a roll with digital art, and since i sort of had a solid design for the party girl after i crocheted her, i just went for it! :guidesmile: Rly enjoyed this one, i should draw more npcs. Please dont judge the proportions too harshly lol i tried my best.

((Can you tell that i never know what to do for the backgrounds so i default to purple? :guidegrin: ))

Who let this small, angry child into my world... Jk jk i love the angler. Fishing is my passion (<what i repeat to myself when he gives me the same painting for the tenth time and not the last cell phone piece)

Went for a more chibi-style for him instead of my normal style! But the background remains,,, at least it's blue this time!

Tbh i was too scared to look up any fanart of her to see how others were drawing her sprite so, she's a bit more simple lol. Did have fun adding a couple more fox-like features to her tho!

A While lol. Probably 6 or 7 hours just to make all the squares, and another several hours spread out over the course of weeks to sew them all together/sew a fabric backing on. However, this was my first time making smth like this, so im sure if i did it again i would probably be able to knock at least a couple hours off my time :0

This is delightful, I love seeing Terraria items that are hand crafted. Very well done @StarsAndStuff, thanks for sharing, looking forward to see more. :guidesmile:

That looks absolutely beautifull.
If i may suggest sone banners, some of my favorites include: Angry Dandelion, Crimson Axe, Wyvern and Rainbow slime.
 
The banner is absolutely gorgeous! I always admired the design of some of the banners with transparent edges and seeing this crocheted is so cool :3
My partner is wondering how you were able to make the squares since he's working on a project with pixel art as well. Are they just tiny granny squares or are they a different kind of pattern?

ty!! :guidegrin: they are just the first row of a granny square, yeah. theyre rly easy to make, the awful part is sewing them together lol
 
if you want an easier method to sew all the squares together, i would look up the join as you go method ^-^ -the aforementioned boyfriend

I have thought abt joining as you go, but thr problem is every technique ive seen either goes into the chain spaces which, given the squares are so small, is too visible. Or they create a border of sorts, which. I cant do that if i want the colors all touching. Or they use the last row of the square, and since im only doing one row into a magic ring, just doesnt rly work and would probably just take longer in the end.

I am getting faster at sewing tho (almost done w another banner!) But if your partner is able to figure out a way to join as you go that isnt very visible you should totally lmk 👀 and ty for the suggestion! :guidegrin:
