Also, some things I noticed
- A clear bar showing how much of the event finished
-Event is called Martian Madness
-Steam integration
-Redigit was in a minecart that had a gun on it, and a cool trail behind it
-When Redigit was far away it said how many ft away he as
-The Shadowflame Hex Doll
-We got to see the laser machine gun in action
-We got to see the meowmere in action
-The sword redigit was holding, it was not the Terra Blade though it looked like it.
-New social slots
-When the inventory was opened up, there was either a new design or something new on the crafting menu

Like duke fishron, although duke fishron came with something fake. If anything, I think martian madness is the joke, as the event for this update was a "lunar" event, not a martian event.

April first was marked in the terraria calendar so it's possible they planned for this all along
