The reason I charge 1 plat is because it's an alternative. I would much rather trade for items I want than coins which does little for me now. I'm sitting on around 400 plat at the moment, so I charge more to push people away from buying with coin.

Trust me I didn't edit it all in. I spent a few hours fighting bosses on a server and someone dropped like 800. I then got 100 more from the crazy amount of bosses they spawn. It was also on a different character.
