Terra AWG is a standalone tool for generating vanilla compatible worlds. It gives a fresh imagining of what exploration could be, while maintaining normal world progression.
Features
- Enticing caves: designed to encourage exploration by often having a new cave visible near dead ends
- Unlocked biome placement: spawn may not be a forest, the location of the jungle does not control other map features
- Biomes collide: many merging rules for biomes/microbiomes (Corrupt glowing mushroom? Sure. Aether dungeon? Why not.)
- Reworked chests: more biome specific loot, pooled luck (should still find Ice Skates, even with bad RNG), and updated progression locked chests (dungeon, underworld, temple) with items relevant to that stage of game
- Redesigned structures: new layout for hives, dungeon, and temple
- Map preview: outputs an image of the world map after generation (can be disabled to avoid spoilers)
- Fast: hardware dependent of course; for me, takes about 1 second to generate a small world and 5 seconds for a large world
Screenshots
It is surprisingly difficult to capture how this worldgen looks and feels different, but here goes anyway.Work in Progress
Currently I am making frequent updates to Terra AWG. It should be functional for full playthroughs, however some world regions may lack polish. Any feedback would be great (and helps guide features/fixes), but if you just want a world to play in for a long time, you may want to wait a bit.- Paintings/statues: some are currently unobtainable
Usage
- Edit
terra-awg.ini
to choose world size, etc. - Run
terra-awg
to generate a new world (If you want to read the messages, run the program through command prompt/powershell/terminal, instead of just clicking on it) - Copy the new
*.wld
file into your saves folder (something likeDocuments\My Games\Terraria\Worlds
)
