inb4 we get a super secret thomas the train weapon which breaks all blocks and replaces them with rails changing all the music in the game to the cartoon's theme and crashing your PC breaking your hardrive
Haha, unfortunately we don't have that, but it would be a fun addition :P
We just need to fix 1 bug in a weapon, then we will release the update right away!

Darn it, I guess there's no point in keeping this a secret any longer.

@Walto Looks great. Could you expand on the scythes please? Would be great to play with them as a class since earlygame. Please put something special on them if you do. Would be boring just to swing them.

One of our major goals is to add many more scythes to the game. The obsidian scythe is an example of a pre-hardmode scythe, and we're always open to trying to make them special in different ways. As far as making them do things other than swing, it's kinda hard to code different, unique ways to use items. That being said, I'll discuss with my mod team and see if any more scythes can be worked on for v1.2.0 :)
In other news, only 1 more bug for v1.1.0, you can blame @TMC for not getting around to it yet :p

Yes, we will for sure. Definitely. But in the future. We have 2 updates lined up already, so we will have plenty of time to work on the next one after those 2, so you can expect it to be bigger then the rest, in regards to more scythes, swords, possibly shortswords, and we'd also love to do some boomerangs too!

@Walto You did that from scratch pixel by pixel or modified an existing one/took pieces from different places?
I made it from scratch, but for the shading I used the color palette of a spectre hamaxe and I looked at the pattern for reference.

i love the additions this makes to my playthroughs, though i think the gem glaives should be altered a bit:

all glaives: a reduced cost on gems needed, considering the staves only need 8, the robes need 10, and hooks need 15, the glaives gem costs are a bit steep for early progression items.

all glaives: more varied dmg across them, because their damage isnt changed much across them, theres not much point making a higher tier one when a amethyst glaive has only a small damage difference to ruby and diamond ones, so maybe spread out the damage more across them, amethyst being a bit lower than currently, while ruby and diamond being a bit higher, the others dont need too much changing.

We really appreciate the advice! We may change some damage values in the next balance update.

Thanks for your suggestions! I definitely agree the cost of the gem glaives should be tweaked to make it more accessible, and I'll talk to the others about that. The only problem with the damage situation you had was balancing. To keep the gem glaives balanced, we couldn't give them as high of a damage increase curve as they progress, otherwise the diamond glaive would be stronger than the Atgeir (even though it is used to craft it). The main goal of gem glaives is to give a use to excess gems for people playing a melee class, just like mages.
