I think I found the fastest and easiest early HM melee start:
Step 1: mine for HM armor (Palladium and mythril are best and easiest to obtain) and T3 ore weapon
Step 2: Do some quick grinding for Souls of Light in the UG hallow; you'll probably get Spider staff and mimic drops along the way.
Step 3: Use the souls of light to get a Flying Knife.
Step 4: Use the flying knife to shred Blood Eels for Drippler Crippler.

I have killed Master Mode Moon Lord as a summoner using Desert Tiger as my main minion. This balance patch was a good patch.
So, it looks like at one point in 1.4's history the movement speed cap was removed. How did no one notice this?

I'm doing an Eternity Mode playthrough (Fargo's Mod) with it and fighting mechs with both changes is true pain....
