Edit: Found the desert! guess world-gen's just drunk, and swapped the positions of the desert and jungle around. Still weird though.

Ah. That makes more sense. strange that it only happened twice in a 5 hour time span since I fought the solar pillar in the same exact way that entire time, though. for some reason I figured a projectile reflection attack would kill me more consistently than that.

It's not so strange, they are very common. Now, actually getting an Arkhalis from one, that's another story... (If you do, then you've been very lucky.)
