OOC The Slap Battles - Great Pain in the palm of your hand. (OOC - applications and info)

Incendiary

Skeletron Prime
So I made this RP on another forum, problem is nobody is active enough there for an RP. I figured I'd give this a go, and I'd have an excuse to use this forum. Ok nobody knows who I am but I won't let that stop me.

Venture through the world and fight hoards of enemies while exploring dungeons and challenging locations to find loot and gold, all while helping your team stay alive. There's one catch, though: you can't wield a weapon. The only thing you have to fight is your hands, and slapping your opponents senseless seems to be the most effective. Slam your enemies with the flat face of your hand to make them suffer, equip new powers to slay your foes and battle your way to face Will Smith - the Slap Lord himself. Face a variety of dangerous foes along the way while gaining new allies and explore a fragile world under the threat of total annihilation.

Le mechanics:

Vitality can be considered Health. The more damage you take, the more vitality you lose. Depending on where attacks hit, Vitality can be lost on certain limbs resulting in mobility losses or attack reductions. Max Vitality can be upgraded through crystals or gear.
Energy allows you to evade attacks or, more importantly, use your slap power. Every attack requires slap power, and the only way to regenerate is to use Energy Drinks, use other energy boosting consumables or simply not attack on a particular turn. Energy can be upgraded through crystals or gear.
Defence is a mechanic that increases your chance of reducing or negating damage from attacks. There are 3 types of defence: Kinetic Defence which protects from solid weapons and enemy slaps, Elemental Defence which protects from element-based attacks and Magic Defence which protects from magic powers. The armour you select will either specialise in 1 type of defence or be balanced. You cannot specialise in 2 or all types. It may be best to balance your stats, or you can specialise for 1 type for boss battles. Armour is used to obtain defence.
Power Level shouldn't be a major factor but enemies with higher power level require larger rolls to be effective. In addition, they will gain bonuses when they attack you and require lower rolls to get a successful hit on you. This goes both ways. Power level is determined by several factors, such as gear, team balance and duration alive. If an enemy's power level is too high, it may be impossible to kill, and if it's too low, it won't damage you at all.
Agility determines how well you dodge attacks or move around and is not usually increased without a consumable or special gear. Lower agility means worse rolls for dodges or jumps.
Impact is more or less the raw damage.
Type Kinetic, Elemental (with element shown) or Magic
Energy Use how much energy is used per attack.
Attacks per turn or APT shows how many times you can attack per turn. The Energy Use shows how much energy is consumed if all possible attacks are used per turn. Less attacks uses less energy.
Debuff effect explained per instance.

Primary attacks are your default move. If you don't specify an attack, you will default to this.
Primary attacks are weaker but can be done up to 3 times a turn. They can be buffed by equipping gauntlets or vambraces.
Primary attacks require the least amount energy.

Special attacks are more powerful moves that have special effects such as elemental powers or debuffing enemies. They require more energy and can vary in APT.

Power attacks are special attacks with more destruction and consequently more energy consumption. They require recharges over long periods and will drain all your energy on use.
When it comes to armour, your generic chestplate is usually just for defence but can provide bonuses. Greaves or leg armour does the same thing. Your helmet can provide specialised bonuses but usually not much defence.

Gauntlets and Vambraces determine your Special and Power attacks. They can also buff your Primary attacks. Gauntlets are more focused on the most effective Special and Power attacks. Vambraces provide more overall bonuses with less powerful Special and Power attacks.

Finally, you can equip a necklace or talisman and a ring/bracelet for smaller bonuses to your stats. There are also special items throughout the world. You can see what they do most of the time.

Earlier, I mentioned Crystals. These are dropped by powerful enemies and bosses, but can also be found while exploring. Red crystals boost Vitality. Blue Crystals boost Energy. You can also gain small bonuses through your gear.

Your inventory is self explanatory. You have 6 slots to hold items. Bags and backpacks increase capacity, but carrying too much will slow you down.

Consumables are split into foods, medications and potions. Foods regenerate health and energy. Meds can negate certain debuffs or boost some abilities but require 1 turn or more to take effect and can't heal you. Potions provide instant buffs but inflict sickness if more than 1 is consumed within a certain period, granting debuffs.
Items with no rarity (uncoloured) are considered Generic items. They include most resources and consumables.
Common Loot is marked in this green colour. It includes basic loot and early-game or filler items, as well as common potions.
Uncommon Loot is marked in this blue colour. It includes early-mid game items, some buff potions and basic utility items.
Rare Loot is marked in whatever this gray-blue colour is. It includes mid-game items and cool utilities.
Epic Loot is marked with I think it's violet. It includes mid-late game items, powerful utilities and less common, powerful consumables.
Legendary Loot is marked in Fortnite gold loot orange. It includes high-grade late game items and some very rare utilities. There are also a few cool things you might find in this rarity.
Exotic Loot is marked in this red colour. The rarest and most powerful items come in this rarity, and can be found at any point in the game. They may feature cool effects. These weapons will come Power Level Locked and require a certain level of power to use.

Quest Items are marked in this boring ahh beige. They're kinda self explanatory. Give to NPC, get stuff.

Le form:

Please put at least a little effort in your application. Character appearance and personality would be the important parts

(BTW, you can't start with anything of value gameplay-wise. Trinkets with no effect? Yes. Weapons or gear? No.)

A transparent blue humanoid figure, about 7 and half feet tall. He’s muscular. He appears to have some sort of snake wrapped around each arm.
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Species: Formerly human, currently prime soul (person’s soul with a corporeal form.)
Personality: Lawful good. He will lean towards doing the right thing, but only if there’s ample justification. He’s noble, proud, but also caring.
Backstory: (Just going to specify rn that this is a character from the game ULTRAKILL.) King Minos ruled the Lust layer of hell. While his crime to be sent there is unknown, the making of Minos prime is quite the opposite. After the Heavenly Father vanished, heaven rose into turmoil. Taking his chances, King Minos and the other denizens of hell began to construct a great city in the lust layer. This became known as the lust renaissance. After heaven had finally created a council to rule, the archangel Gabriel was sent to deal with the happenings of the Lust Layer. Without any sympathy, Gabriel murdered King Minos in front of his people, letting him bleed out on the ground before all of them. After that, the city was destroyed by its own people.
However..
Minos’ will to live and help his people was so great that his soul continued on after death. It began to form what is known as a prime soul, a soul with so much motivation that it creates a corporeal form for itself to continue it’s work. Gabriel whisked away the slowly forming prime soul, and the council of heaven decided to trap it inside of a flesh prison, which should contain the soul and keep it from fully forming. However, breaking this prison would allow the soul to finish forming. The result? A man enraged by his inability to help his own people, and ready to fight all the way back up to heaven, all for vengeance.
Other:
I guess a small gimmick he could have would be the fact he always puts off a dim blue-white glow, making he act as a torch in dark areas.

Character name: Carbon-337
Appearance: Imagine one of those Stalker robots from Titanfall 2 in gunmetal grey, but cooler.

- Robot body: 5
Gender: was never allowed to have a gender, but leaning feminine.
Species:
- Vessel: human

Personality: tries to be funny, easy going and not very serious.
Backstory: at a young age, they were permanently and near-fatally injured after their home was bombed. Thanks to lots of money and their father's underground medical science bunker workplace, their body could be preserved, but until they can be operated on safely, they remain inside a fluid-filled tube. They pilot the Carbon-337 high-mobility android, replacing their older and much slower prototype AXm-210.
Other: purely for the sake of not enough players.

Username: anejat(? or something like that...)

Character Name: Dann (just thinking Daniel would sound casual and idiotic and Dan wouldn't sound epic)

Appearance: Kinda hot and ugly at the same time, a little muscular, that one disgustingly masculine guy you never forget about for looking awkard. Possibbly has a beard...

Age: Older than 23, Younger than 35...

Gender: Dude

Species: HUE-MANH (in ferengi accent)

Personality: Little rude, good with strategy, but not so much by other mental skills... Like some sort of knight that is not epic at all. Kinda klingon...

Backstory: Possibly someone's younger brother, never been social around people but also has had close friends

Other: Well... That's it! Just a kind of man you walk past by!

Good enough

Probably won't join, but I got at least one loophole with using Pokémon characters.
The move Tail Slap.
there's also Double Slap, Wake-Up Slap, and probably some others but they do use hands, Tail Slap doesn't but still is a slap.
Just felt like pointing it out.

Characters must have functioning hands. There are not a whole lot of pokemon with hands. Additionally, by "Anything of value gameplay wise", that includes special abilities.

That's why I only mentioned those moves.
And I'd say paws count as hands...
Watch me specifically try to make a character that is a Pokémon with 4 Slap moves that isn't Smeargle just because.

Paws count more as feet than hands. They almost always lack the ability to grab things and wouldn't nearly be as effective as human/humanoid hands when slapping.

Kirby would like to introduce himself and his Nonexistent hands capable of holding a hammer like it's nothing-
I'll go check Smeargle's design for if it'd have proper hands.
I still don't plan to join but I'm just checking my options for the hell of it.

What happens when you run out of HP and die, is it permanent?
Yes. Characters die permanently, and you'll have to make a new character to keep playing.

Guess I might aswell make random one offs, I can't imagine the thought of my main OCs dying.

also in general, I don't know who to use.

Bumping threads for the sake of bumping them isn't allowed on TCF. If there's new stuff to add then it's allowed I think.
