Thank you. Ok, well on console I use materials just for the color palette and texture and never paint anything except for decorations (since paint doesn't show on the map.) In this case, I wanted to build something that was kind of dark gray with purple highlights from the Demonite. I picked Demonite brick also because of the glow at night. I also didn't want it to look like it was made out of bricks, but more like it was carved/molded/sculpted out of a single block of stone and then embellished with the Demonite Bricks and glass and woods, etc...so I used Titanstone for that look.

Whenever I build anything, the first thing I do is think of a color scheme and theme. If it's on PC then there are a lot of choices, but on console (because of the aforementioned paint/color not showing on the map) the choices are more limited to the actual blocks, since on ps3 I like to build for the map (because the ps3 is so zoomed-in.) I don't think about what the blocks are at all, just what color and texture they are. Titanstone block has this sort-of aged and rugged gray texture that I wanted to use in this build.

Also, another main reason why I used Titanstone is because I knew I wanted to build a large "castle" sort of build. The name "Titan Castle" popped into my head before I started building, so naturally I decided to build it mainly out of Titanstone! And that is pretty much that, ha.

Also, I guess I should point out that console is experiencing a glitch since the last update with certain background walls. That's why the glass and blue stained glass has those horizontal lines through it (not the line of stained-glass windows that I purposefully hammered a pattern in though...)

Really nice, I love all the texture and there are lots of details going on but also enough places for the eyes to rest. It does have a great castle feel, and the name Titan Castle is fantastic.

Thank you very much, sir. Large castles are one of my favorite things to build. Looking at these screenshots now, I see a few things I'm probably going to change eventually, such as putting statues in front of the demonite wall-columns to cover the lead fence in the first few shots. I need to update the big king and queen statues with some gemspark wall behind them to light them up, now that console has gemspark.
I also plan to eventually add some big fluffy clouds around the top with maybe a sky-village up there, and some giant background trees growing on either side of the castle, stretching behind it in parts...that's what I originally envisioned while building this anyway.
I'll also probably eventually rebuild the whole thing on PC, since I prefer PC again.

Sorry, I just saw this now. I'm pretty busy today/tonight. Off from work and I have no plans tonight so I've been working on videos/builds/mapping all day.
I know a ton of people who still play on PS3. I'll PM you. I'll keep this here for anyone else wandering into this thread, wondering about more PS3 players: join the Facebook group: Terraria ps3/ps4. It's run by a couple friends of mine and you might meet some people in there to play with.
