Switch Unable to place food on plate

The title is self explanatory. I've tried a variety of food.

The little mouse over icon in form of the food show up but when I press to place it nothing happen

Now, I've found a work around. I'm using Redigit control scheme and both the interact and grappling are on the B button.

Removing the grappling hook from inventory isn't enough, I need to unassigned it in the control panel and make sure that the B button doesn't have other overlapping use. Only with plate this bug occur and not frames.

I had this same problem since playing the game for the first time in January this year.
