Single Thread RP The Last ROLEPLAY Post Wins

By now Evi would finally be getting up to walk around the base, the pain, painkillers, and sedatives having died down enough for it.

By now Evi would finally be getting up to walk around the base, the pain, painkillers, and sedatives having died down enough for it.
Jack would glance over, noticing Evi standing up.

“Just… give it a bit before you try and do anything too crazy.”

(edit: can I get a filler post)

Forest Walk:
-------------------------
Draucon just seems on edge now, for some reason.
-------------------------

Base Clearing:
-------------------------
Eve nods and now unsure what to do, would run off to go do something
Pol, unsure herself and not even having heard anything well, decides to follow Eve instead.
"HEY EVE!"

Evi sort of just nods, and then looks around to see who's nearby.
Luis and Jack could be seen nearby, fussing over some kind of..device?

Oh yeah and then if he looks at the trees surrounding the clearing, he might notice a gigantic white dragon.

Daybreak Vs. Fluxxation's Forces:
-------------------------
Vague rumbling can be heard in the distance...

(Just a filler post for until @Niko from GUNshot! gets back to this. Hope the ping helps ya remember, just want to be sure since I be committing an RP revival moment.)

Daybreak Vs. Fluxxation's Forces:
-------------------------

All the attacks combined take a moment to wear the shield down, more cracks forming and dancing along its surface. [19/30 - 14 x 1.5 for increased volume = 19/30 - 21 = -2/30. In other words...]
...
Before the shield just breaks, some stray projectiles hitting the side of one of the trucks and injuring one of the hoverbike riders, which number 6 in total, carrying 1 operative each.

The trucks look like priority targets for sure, as they swiftly land, several doors opening out on either side so several operatives, numbering about...50 in total, can file out to ready for battle themselves. Rocket launchers begin folding out from their sides.
Zarenth raises a hand, the fire immediately stopping as the soldiers raise their weapons to cool them off.
The ant woman, Sarah, meanwhile, does a backflip off the truck to take cover.

Nothing else of note occurs. For now.
Zarenth continues his approach after a brief pause.

He flicks a gaze towards the trucks, the massive tank-like machines opening fire, each firing a pulse of some huge plasma bolt at a truck. (11, 6)

With a low droning roar, the helicopter seems to swivel to face Sarah, a few weapons seeming to prepare themselves.

And from below the ground of the daybreak soldiers burst the previous fired auger shots from the tanks, exploding violently upon reaching the surface. (4, 17)

One bolt is..somehow perfectly blocked by a shield from one of the bigger looking brute soldiers, though it does break instantly. A knight operative, meanwhile, jumps in front of the second bolt to cleave it in half, still protecting the truck but nonetheless getting slammed into the truck from the sheer force of trying to stop it on their own. They’re probably dead.
(D20: 20, 16)

The trucks' rocket launchers then open fire, letting out a volley of rockets at the troops themsleves, one volley definitely more on target than the other.
(D20: 4, 17)

With a low droning roar, the helicopter seems to swivel to face Sarah, a few weapons seeming to prepare themselves.
Sarah, still kind of behind the right truck, doesn't notice this herself.
<...ok, the helicopter might be a problem.>
<Alright, where are you, Cynthia?>

Sarah readies another canister of Liht while her railgun charges up again...

<Gonna need cover while I get a lock on the helicopter, not sure our ritual casters can get off a spell powerful enough to down it and rockets might not do at all.>
<Pretty sure they've noticed me?>

And from below the ground of the daybreak soldiers burst the previous fired auger shots from the tanks, exploding violently upon reaching the surface. (4, 17)
The Daybbreak troops fortunately are quite quick to spread out. The first shot erupts nonetheless amidst a fair number of Daybreak operatives, most of which fly back as winged draconic troops to dodge the blast, while the others grounded on the earth raise some earth shields to shield themselves, nonetheless getting knocked back and banged up a bit. The second shot is far more on target, managing to kill two operatives outright in the resulting blast while throwing several unprepared operatives onto the ground, injured as they take a moment to get up.
(D20: 18, 15)

Nonetheless, they are quite scattered around by now. Though some do still charge in, notably the brutes first. Decently sized, actual dragons about 3 meters tall apiece, serving as the frontlines, with a couple of riders on their back, some readying lances and others scrolls of some sort. The dragons begin by attempting to maul the ground troops in sight in their path, while the scroll users on their backs begin charging up some spells... (D20: 7)

Some operatives also hang back for now, flying in the air, while a white reptilian...robot(?) can be spotted heading over to the trucks. They’re about as big as all the roughly human sized forms of the rest of the operatives present.

The casters and rangers stay back to begin setting up cover positions with earth walls and magic shields.

Meanwhile, static begins to crackle across every technological surface...

Zarenth begins fooling with some sort of knob on the side of his head, brief bits of audio playing before cutting off with each tap.

Is he.. listening to music?

He seems to set himself on an option.

He raises his shotgun, jerking it forward with a flick of his arm.

Click-click.

(8) A lot of the machines dash out of the way of the first volley, resulting in no injuries there.

The second, however, slams into several machines, ripping them apart, limbs flying, weapons exploding, and machines falling limply to the ground, a good half dozen light units are in pieces with a few heavy units are damaged, slowly recovering. (8)

All across the battle field, machines begin priming melee weapons, plasma bayonets, thin machete sized blades of plasma, hydraulic pikes, long plasma-edged spears, you name it.

(6) A few casualties here and there, most machines managing to get out of the way, no notable units killed in the process.

A few of these machines attempt to counter fire at the riders in particular while dodging to the side. (12)

The tanks then aim towards the dragons, preparing and firing more potent bolts specifically at them while the riders are still targeted by the dodging soldiers. (10)

Zarenth looks down, pinching two fingers closer together as little bits of electricity trace between then.

His antenna lights up as he seems to silently send some sort of message before reaching to his side, drawing some sort of small cylinder and flicking it down, it folds out into a huge plasma bladed battle axe, which he slowly raises towards the oncoming forces before dashing forwards, troops beginning to form a new line once the dragons have passed, melee weapons ready as they charge to meet the oncoming forces.

Zarenth himself moves forwards incredibly fast with the help of thrusters, swinging diagonally at any nearby troops, aiming to cleave a few in half, and then following up with a huge shotgun blast to turn them into fleshy bits. (19)

A few shots land as the dragons fan out in evasive maneuvers, taking out perhaps...3 of the riders while slowing the dragons down, one being killed in the process while another two are heavily injured.
(D20: 10)

The tanks then aim towards the dragons, preparing and firing more potent bolts specifically at them while the riders are still targeted by the dodging soldiers. (10)
This nails a few more of the dragons now, killing a couple of them along with the riders on their back. Others are scraped, being slowed down.
(D20: 7)

They attempt to retaliate with scroll spells, which, while dangerous looking, such as fire wall pushes and lightning bolts, are also heavily telegraphed half the time and the other half are somewhat poorly aimed.
(D20: 2)

However, the shifters that hung back to set down and ready projectiles from afar begin flinging boulders towards the troops now...along with lightning bolts and laser fire.
(D20: 12)
Meanwhile, a couple of casters begin casting rituals...they certainly seem up to something from afar behind those earth wall covers and magic shields they've set up.

Sarah, once her railgun is finished charging, whirls out from behind the truck to take aim at the helicopter again, throwing out her white substance canister.
"MAGANAI!"
Sarah shoots the canister midair between the helicopter and herself, resulting in another amplified, bus-sized beam being fired at it, much more on target now.
(D20: 19 + 4 = 23)
<...only have one more canister left....>
<Can't pull off any more shots after that...>

Sarah then looks down at the ground troops' battle below, looking at the white, anthropomorphic reptilian robot next to her, gesturing to Zarenth as they ready up to moev.
"...CYNTHIA, GO. SUPPORT THE TROOPS."

He tears through everything in his path...which is unfortunately technically not quiite as many as he could have gotten. In all he nails about a dozen slain, dragons and riders, mostly because they're just too spread out from the prior tank fire and such. The front lines are certainly beginning to thin out though. Only 6 dragons remain, of which only 3 still have riders.
(D20: 12)

Zarenth may, however, notice a certain white, reptilian...robot (?) running towards the fight, weapons unfolding from their 4 arms: a sword, a small machine gun, a grenade launcher, and a laser. Somehow they look more skilled than the rest of the pack. Though then there's the one behind those big lasers being fired at the helicopter...

(17) The machines dodge with ease, not even one being harmed. They begin to regroup behind the remaining dragon riders, lowering melee weapons to swap to heavier firearms..
However, the shifters that hung back to set down and ready projectiles from afar begin flinging boulders towards the troops now...along with lightning bolts and laser fire.
(D20: 12)
Several light units and one heavy unit are crushed instantly by boulders before the machines begin to see them, shooting the rest out of the air and attempting to dodge past the lasers and lightning, some still being grazed or hit different degrees of damage. (9)
Meanwhile, a couple of casters begin casting rituals...they certainly seem up to something from afar behind those earth wall covers and magic shields they've set up.
Zarenth glances into the distance, tapping the side of his head again and uttering some intelligible command as the tanks begin to drive forwards, charging large beams of some sort as the take aim in the vague direction of the casters..

(10) It begins to flare its thrusters to dodge to the side, but barely moves before the beam rips through its right side, tearing all of the weapons off, splitting open the insides, and partially piercing as well, a thin bit of the beam making it through entirely and clipping part of the blade.

The helicopter begins to start burning as it wobbles to the side, alarms blaring.

Zarenth looks up in moderate surprise before issuing another intelligible command.

The helicopter turns downwards, firing all of the missiles on its left side at the trucks (16) it begins to drop from the sky, flying towards the railgunner, aiming to crash into her. (5)
Sarah then looks down at the ground troops' battle below, looking at the white, anthropomorphic reptilian robot next to her, gesturing to Zarenth as they ready up to moev.

He looks to the oncoming creature approaching him, slinging his axe across his back as he raises his other forearm, snapping the shotgun onto it and then flicking his arm down, the shotgun now attached and loaded again.

He grasps his axe again in one hand, raising his shotgun-equipped hand to issue a further command.

After this, he begins walking towards the oncoming creature, his troops still filing towards him from behind as they push against the enemy line.

Machines begin filing around the tanks with melee weapons primed, firing at any oncoming troops in front of the tanks. (19)

Along with this, heavy units group up and begin unloading their machine guns on the remaining dragon riders and dragons, aiming to clean up the back line. (13)

The trucks manage to fire up their shields again to block the first of the salvo, walling off initial hits as they fire up their thrusters to get moving, the shield breaking as the trucks move. The final few rockets strike some of their rocket launchers, blowing it up along with the trucks' sides...rendering them immobile. (D20: 18 plot.)

Sarah, surprised by the incoming helicopter, launches herself out of the way with an earth pillar (D20: 9), taking aim to look out for something to hit as soon as she lands.
<...shoot. We do not have enough bodies for this...>
<No way the mechs are gonna come out in time to save any lives here...>
<Can only hope that Lightning arrives in time to at least stop their advance here.>

The reptilian robot dashes at them to engage them directly, firing a laser at them and following it up immediately with a sword slash. (D20: 17, just one roll for simplicity)

Along with this, heavy units group up and begin unloading their machine guns on the remaining dragon riders and dragons, aiming to clean up the back line. (13)
Winged draconic fliers, and the bike riders from earlier (that were totally doing a great job existing a second ago), approach now with the dragons and the riders...or what's left of them, anyway. Can't be more than 20 of them left to kill, ignoring those guys in the back.

As the troops approach for one more strike...they collectively redouble their efforts, forgoing survival in lieu of slowing the enemy down.
""FOR LIGHT EVERLASTING!""
...a nice battlecry for dead men, at least.
(D20: 8 - 4 = 4, 3 - 4 = -1)

But the battle cry did seem to mark something. The dragons, desperate, fire off fireballs and water balls or rush in to slice something up despite how certain it is they'll collapse from their wounds from everything they get hit by not long after. One rider attempts a kamikaze attack of blowing himself up after rushing in wildly on his dragon's back, the draconic fliers throw themselves in to eviscerate as many as they can with their knives despite their wounds, the hoverbike riders try riding towards the tanks and the heavy units, setting off their bikes' self destruct mechanisms for more kamikaze attacks...
...
Pathetic. (D20: 4 + 4 = 8. Roll that determines if their final assault actually does anything in the first place...before they die.)

The reptilian robot engaging Zarenth, at least, is not participating in this final assault.

<...oh boy...>

...the earth begins to rumble...
