We'd have one hell of the time trying to manage the Corruption/Crimson.

Well, it can't launch a conquest against the surrounding nations, at least not quickly. Simply put, modern weapons horribly out range them, though they may be able to get creative and just dig tunnels. While they may be damnably hard to invade on account of their tunneling abilities, they will also revolutionize the mining and excavation industries.

Also, the amount of monsters just pouring out of that place is going to make life very interesting for their neighbors, and the rare ores and materials found there will quite quickly become very valuable on the world market, possibly allowing for a wealthy micro nation to form and persist should they not have any aggressive neighbors and have ocean access.

What if we bomb it?

What if we summon the Moon Lord to be one shotted by the bomb so the country get all the resources for almost free?

I like that idea of yours, as then we could make even more powerful bombs out of the materials.

Nah, maybe not Nunavut. Maybe the Northwest Territories is better.

@DoctorMcDerp "Modern weapons horribly outrange them"

@neoselket *Laughs in high altitude JDAM strikes, Kinzhal hypersonic nuclear missile, modern tank targeting and thermal systems, Aegis Targeting Systems, Peacekeeper and Trident MIRV ballistic missiles, modern artillery, and AN/SEQ-3 Laser Weapon System.*

@DocterMcDerp Laughs in Clentaminator, Last Prism, Lunar Events (because their shield scales in strength depending on the number of humans in the world, meaning it would scale from over 7 billion people and would OBLITERATE all of the high flying things we sent after them because of crawltipedes), and Meteors

@Omega Derpling *Laughs in being able to outrun pretty much everything and being able to kill terrarians before they knew anyone was even targeting them, thus negating any damage advantages. Screen size boyo. Also, with the lunar events and the sheer numbers that comes with them, I laugh at that in the kill radius of nuclear weapons.

Just keep nuking and pounding the region around the pillar, and it's an easy victory. You may not even have to use nukes, just set up a designated kill box and whack that with missiles and artillery, or just go full operation arc light style and bomb everything in the designated zone out of existence.

The bombers won't even be near aggro range, and if the crawltipedes give chase anyway, the bombers can outrun them (muh jet powered transonic B-52), or match speed and abuse their predictable movement to delete them with turrets as they sit just within range but are unable to catch their targets.

@DoctorMcDerp You know I get notified for all of these posts, right?

Sorry man, gotta make a point, and the word count is being uncooperative so I have to split these up.

You're forgetting the fact that if you continuously are nuking the nation you'll end up waking the moon lord, who will appear at a completely random part of the world and oneshot a whole lot of people before anyone can react. If the moon lord spawns in Terraria then the nukes will end up instakilling the cultists and starting the endlessly long lunar events again.
