I see a LOT of potential problems this could raise & I assume most of the new updates to Manikins count them as chest items, or something similar.
- Target Dummies are rudimentary testing subjects at best, the perfect "what if scenario". You're almost, always going to have to test true effects in real-time, Target Dummies will still give you glossy feedback because there'll always be lil' things they won't account for. The amount of resources doesn't justify the changes IMHO.
- From what I saw, the Chest limit seems to have been raised (8000 or something like that?), I could easily see this new addition causing rare crashes, new duplication bugs & performance issues. Again, the amount of resource this would demand doesn't justify the infinite number of new problems it might raise.
- I don't think there should be another item or piece of furnishing that competes with Manikins. They're finally in a place where they are both aesthetically pleasing & a useful means of intentional storage. They have a LOT of character now & it would be unfair to add a new, possibly better version, that also causes new problems that were already fixed by old patches.
- If PvP is your jam, test & theory craft in real time. There's nothing like the real thing baby! I can almost assure you, adjustable target dummies won't help you very much with real-time PvP scenarios, as they will never account for Movement, Item Swapping, Armor Swapping, consistency, range or item potential. You'll get the perfect scenario nearly every time, which will likely lead to false conclusions. The information will be true & so will the numbers, but it'll be extremely biased information that can never account for intangibles or extraneous variables.
