The best free, adless Chess server would be your best bet, all the features are free and you can analyze your completed games for study purposes. It really does help and you will eventually make fewer careless mistakes.

Chess is my favorite board game. Learned it from a very young age and still play it on occasion.

The Queen and Bishop are my favorite pieces. The diagonal movement is one I enjoy using a lot.

Thinking back on it, it might be part of what shaped my love of strategy elements in video games. Both in 4x strategy types of games, along with certain kinds of Turn Based RPGs where you do have to think in terms of managing your pieces on a huge gameboard (or world map).
