PS5 Do I prepare for WoF now or no?

Me and my friend started a world together because we had nothing else to do. We hadn’t played Terraria in years so we are on normal mode and we don’t know what to do next other than to grind for better armor. We’ve beaten skeletron and Brain of Cthulhu and have explored the whole skeletron dungeon (at least I think) we beat queen bee today and the witch doctor moved in. But now we don’t know whether we should get ready for WoF or if there’s something else we should get or do, so if anyone has any pointers or tips I’m open to hear them. Thanks! (I’ve watched the whole game so don’t worry about spoilers)

What does your gear look like? Can you send screenshots of your inventory?

You could do the crossover content like Deerclops or Old One's Army, but you can also very easily skip them if you like. The most important thing for wof prep is to make sure you have everything you need from hellstone and shadow chests.

Sorry but I don’t have time to get a screenshot of it rn but I have the muramasa, aqua scepter, and bee gun. Those are my main weapons and my friend uses the meatball (mace), the undertaker, and bee grenades for right now as we’re trying to get him a bee gun too. Also just a stronger weapon in general and we both have all 4 staffs you get from the unconscious man after brain of Cthulhu and we beat the old one’s army so we can use them. Armor wise we have tungsten armor and will most likely beat brain of Cthulhu for more tissue samples for better armor. For accessories I have a quick squire’s shield, spectre boots, climbing claws, cloud in a bottle, slime hook, and the horse mount. (also we have slime mount as well if that helps.) then my friend has all the same things accept he has the colbalt shield and doesn’t have cloud in a bottle. Then he has Abigail for his summon and I have the finch. Thats about all sorry again for not being able to get screenshots. I feel like we need hard mode for all the things we want to do we even made a harpy farm not knowing we need hard mode to craft harpy wings so I feel like we should try it at least but also I still feel a little unprepared considering we never got to hard mode before.

7. The rest of the accessories are up to you as pre-HM is rather lenient with them

If you aren't building a hellbridge, an Obsidian Rose upgrade would be handy. Mainly Obsidian Skull Rose with Molten Skull Rose, Lava Waders, and Terrasparks if you're willing. Besides that, Classic is easy enough to do whatever.

I dont use the nightsedge.
The sunfury which is found in Shadow Chest, is really powerful and has Amazing Knockback.

Both are good, but the night's edge has even better knockback and damage than sunfury does. Sunfury's advantage is that it has somewhat higher range.

Are you sure about that? Sunfury has more damage and knockback then Nights Edge. (I looked it up)

Use time

Use time is a statistic that applies to weapons, tools and other usable items. It determines the time that must pass, after use, before the same item or another item can be used again. In basic terms, this is the "rate of fire", as measured in game ticks. A lower use time means a faster weapon...

Use time is insanely important and better the lower it is, and night's edge's use time is barely over half as much as sunfury's. Sunfury also has a projectile limit of 1, which reduces its attack speed further.

That's Use Time. Not Damage or Knockback

Use Time is attack speed, meaning you can apply damage and knockback more often. This means that night's edge is better at keeping enemies away from you and does more dps. Hit rate is directly linked to most stats. This is why you actually test weapons ingame with killtimes rather than just using the dps meter or looking at tooltips and calling it a day.

that is not at all what you said bro, and keep in mind that flails are better then swords prehardmode because of how they work now, their second mode is not to be underestimated.

Flails have 3 modes so I'm not sure which one you're referring to. Only 1 of them is a dps increase over how they used to be and it was because of a base damage increase rather than any mechanical change (reminder swords have gotten both mechanical changes and dps increases just as recently), so I'm not sure why you're bringing this up.
Do you have numbers or any evidence to disprove this that isn't just anecdotal? Because I can go grab my evidence that isn't just anecdotal if you like.

Not sure why everything has to be a debate with you bro. That's not why I'm here. I'm not gonna debate a video game.
We all have different playstyles. Their is no wrong way to play a game.

Interesting that you say "you're not going to debate a video game" when I initially agreed with you that sunfury was useful at the start of this conversation, and it didn't become an argument until you disagreed with the nuance I brought up, but if it makes you feel better then go ahead and believe that. Saying "both are good, but here's what each is better at" isn't even necessarily disagreeing with you.

Not everything does have to be a debate with me, but if you respond to something I said with "are you sure?" then I'm going to answer your question with more than just "yes" and actually explain my reasoning. I don't feel like it would be fair or respectful to whoever I'm talking with to not put in any effort.
