I recently had an idea for a Dryad Invasion :dryadmad:. (Yes, I put that smiley in there because it fit my theme) Okay, here it goes:

After you've defeated Plantera and chopped down at least 50 trees (post-plantera) There will be this message in chat:

"The Dryad has gotten angry for you chopping down so many trees. She has... left."

Assuming the Dryad is Mother Nature, of course. Which, she is. I think.

She will no longer be in a house (or the housing menu).

Over the next 5 days, your NPCs will report sightings of the dryad.
When talking to the NPC, there will be a new option: "Dryad Sighting"
When clicked, they will say this:

Wizard: "In my crystal ball, I saw (Name of Dryad) mustering an army in the jungle. I fear they may attack us soon."
Arms Dealer: "I went out to get supplies for bullets and saw (Name of Dryad) in the jungle, shouting orders at an army. I didn't want to be a coward, but there were so many soldiers I had to run the other way."
Nurse: "I was gathering healing supplies when I saw (Name of Dryad) in the Jungle and on a throne."
Merchant: "I was just gathering ore for my new invention when I heard a voice that sounded EXACTLY like (Name of Dryad)'s."
Steampunker: "I was testing my new gadget when I saw (Name of Dryad) testing a cannon."

There will probably be many more, but they were ones I could come up with.

On the 6th or 7th day (random), the dryad army will attack.

"A huge dryad army is invading!"

The army will include the following: (WARNING: HORRIBLE SPRITES)

Then, the dryad will be impressed with you and come back to your house.

ALL Sprites will get a sprite change unless the community says a sprite should stay the same.

Have a great day!

Before I even got to Plantera my entire world was void of trees. So don't you think the Dryads anger is a bit late?

Anyways besides that I don't really support this. I think we have enough events for now.

This actually isnt bad. It should happen after plantera only, and if the corrruption is bigger than the hallow. (Meaning corruption spreads slightly faster than the hallow.

So the Dryad just thinks I'll let her live with me again even though she tried to kill me? For someone who's 500 years old, she's pretty dim.

Yeaaah, just... Why?
By the time one beats plantera, theyre out of trees, and basically need a entirely new world to get wood. (Not a problem tho.)

That's really only if the player was being irresponsible. Trees drop acorns, and it's foolish not to replant them.

NO I don't think this is a good idea because well she's trying to help you she's trying to help you kill Moon Lord I think this may have been made before 1.3 update though

I'll gladly join the Army because she looks like The Lorax no let's
Please don’t unnecessarily bump threads from eight years ago just to literally say “no” and nothing else
I don't know what you mean what do you guys mean by bumping I don't understand that because I'm new here and I don't really go on forums on websites

A bump is when a person moves a thread all the way to the top of the new posts thread. But now that I think about it, this is actually just an unnecessary necropost (necroposts are posts that are replies to threads that are often several months to several years old)

Hey @natedogwoof, welcome to the forums. :)

To clarify what has already been said, while we have no rule against posting in threads that haven't been active for years, we do expect that posts made in such threads - or indeed any thread - do have some substance to it; simply saying "NO" as you did originally is not enough. In the same vein, you are free to give criticism on suggestions as long as it's constructive: while your current revision is okay, just saying anything to the effect of "bad idea" without explaining why you feel that way is not really something we approve of. Please keep both of these points in mind going forward. :)

@a really far away planet, while I appreciate your preparedness to help new members, if you notice someone breaking the rules (major or minor), please report it and leave it for us to handle. :)
