At first I didn’t really like this idea. But now after giving it some time I can think of some artistic and depth uses for this especially in the actual foreground among other things. So thumbsup.

Immersive Projector. This modification has a lot of possibilities, foreground is just one of them. Unfortunately, it is quite complicated to use.

The issue where you can't see our player can be fixed with an outline appearing, plus you always know they're in the center of your screen.

I personally find it hard to know where my player is just after drinking an invisibility potion. Not so much with stealth mode as you move slower, but that too.
