Because the summoning looks exactly the same, you could splash someone with it. and then summon a real boss

you could what? No. No splash debuffs. So much trolling potential.

The suggestion isn't pointless (please refrain from using that word towards suggestions @iToby), its just that its purpose isn't one that is heavily supported by Terraria (i.e., trolling other players). Of course, you could drink it yourself and it might be a bit of an experience, but I don't see this sort of thing being added to mess with other people.

Also, the Red Potion is a testing tool for easy buffing; very much not pointless.

It doesn't have any purpose for the game. It makes no sense, and most people would rather use their fish to make potions that will actually help them beat bosses rather than this. No support.

I am going to give my honest opinion.
I do not see how this would be useful. How would it help? It has a lot of trolling potential, and people would rather use their fish for other potions. If you ask me, I would rather see a curse of insanity rather than an actual potion that lasts until death. Sorry but no support.

I see that you want this as a, "troll," tool, but Terraria isn't really built for trolling other players yet.

And hopefully never I like the zen aspect of Terraria that doesn't leave much room for trolling without mods like tShock. There are still ways, but let's keep that to a minimum.

Don't you think making it a prank where everyone can laugh afterwards to be a more acceptable suggestion as opposed to something meant to induce rage quits? Give it a real debuff, with a real short time(5~10 seconds). Make the effects purely visual.

Right now it's only worth considering if Relogic wants to kill multiplayer completely, which might or might not be a good thing.
